Is The DNC Raaaaacist for Saying That a Black Man Can’t Win a Debate?

Bluegrass Pundit points to the NY Post quoting Brad Woodhouse engaging in a little soft bigotry of low expectations:

It’s a further lowering of expectations ahead of the first debate in Denver next week. Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse tells Fox News he thinks Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will win.
Woodhouse says the way the DNC sees it, challengers win the first debate when they are up against incumbents.
“Mitt Romney has had a lot more time to debate, the president has not debated in the past four years in terms, of a campaign debate. I think the president will hold his own, but he’s not known for sound bites. And these are 60 second, 90 second responses.”

Not known for a bites. Probably because he didn’t build that.

Seriously, Brad: get stuffed. The American people have had three and a half years of Barack “Spock” drivel crammed in an uncomfortable location. The guy can stand and deliver. If he’s so purportedly smart, let him dazzle us with brains.

This notion that a black man somehow ain’t packin’ the gear in a debate after 3.5 years on the job as President is the saddest sort of raaaaacism.

Barack Obama has had endless opportunities to debate the GOP, on bill after bill, but he’s preferred to hide behind the skirts of Harry Reid, Valerie Jarrett and the MSM.

It is certainly true that Obama does not do well in giving short, concise answers. Look at his rare press conferences and town halls: he goes on and on, rambling forth until everyone forgets what the original question was. It’s as if he knows there is an overall time limit on the thing and the more time he wastes in long, disjointed answers the fewer total questions he will have to field.

As Hugh Hewitt points out, one of Obama’s favorite tricks is setting up the Super Straw-man. He describes a policy no one proposes with a goal no one endorses, ascribes both to the Republican Party and then condemns it.

Also, when he hems and haws and “um, um, um”s, he is lying.

When his lips move, Obama is lying.

(EDIT: Forgot to add that Obama’s, “If Governor Romney is suggesting that we should start another war, he should say so,” idiocy is a prime example.)

Yeah. Do not play a drinking game Wednesday involving Obama’s stuttering um’s, ah’s, or uh’s.

    You’ll die of alcohol poisoning.

Notice how many similar stories are cropping up all at once. “Romney’s really, really good at debating, and Obama is just a good old President.”
“Debates don’t really mean that much.”
“Rassmussen says nobody will actually win the debate.”

On and on it goes. Almost like there’s some sort of list of things to write about. For Journos, I mean.

Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago I read the Vanity Fair article in the October 2012 issue titled ‘Obama’s Way’ by Michael Lewis.

Page 6, paragraph 2 talks about how Pres. Obama doesn’t prefer to structure meetings as debates, more like “mini-speeches”. Perhaps Pres. Obama just hasn’t heard that many good ideas in those “mini speeches” by his advisors to help him out debating Mitt.
