I was actually first told last fall that Obama’s campaign was spending at an astonishing rate. This was echoed and confirmed by others, all in better positions to know than I am, early this year. One speculated that it was as if once they had declared the goal last year to raise $1 billion, they assumed they would be able to do it and began spending as if they already had.
This could have an impact at the end. Obama won’t be able to save money by laying off staffers, it will look bad that he couldn’t even manage his campaign budget. So he may end up with little to spend on TV those last few weeks when the mushy middle-of-the-road swing voters finally get around to paying attention.
Heh.

Adjoran–always the optimist! Now, what would be the worst case scenario for Romney* in this situation?
* I’m sorry, London 2012 was a success and your “possible scenario” didn’t happen.

Idiot. UK taxpayers will still be paying the bills for the Games when our grandchildren are old. But of course to you stupid leftists having a big party on borrowed money someone else will have to repay IS a “success,” isn’t it?
