Romney Ad: ‘America Deserves Better’
Posted on | August 10, 2012 | 10 Comments
My shock at the raw dishonesty of the Democrats — and polls indicating that Americans have become indifferent to truth — is evidently shared by the Romney campaign:
The Romney campaign supplies the script of the ad:
AD FACTS: Script For “America Deserves Better”
VOICEOVER: “What does it say about a president’s character when his campaign tries to use the tragedy of a woman’s death for political gain?”
VIDEO TEXT: “A President’s Character?”
VIDEO TEXT: “Scraping Bottom”
Chicago Tribune Headline: “Scraping Bottom” (Editorial, “Scraping Bottom,” Chicago Tribune, 8/9/12)
VIDEO TEXT: “Disgusting”
- · ABC News: “‘Disgusting’ Pro-Obama Ad Criticized By Democrat” (Steven Portnoy, “‘Disgusting’ Pro-Obama Ad Criticized By Democrat,” ABC News, 8/9/12)
VOICEOVER: “What does it say about a president’s character when he had his campaign raise money for the ad then stood by as his top aides were caught lying about it?”
VIDEO TEXT: “Obama Campaign Admits Knowing”
- · ABC News: “Obama Campaign Admits Knowing Story Behind Man In Super PAC Ad” (Mary Bruce, “Obama Campaign Admits Knowing Story Behind Man In Super PAC Ad,” ABC News, 8/9/12)
VIDEO TEXT: “Unfair Attack”
- · CBS News: “Due Diligence: An Unfair Attack On Mitt Romney” (Brian Montopoli, “Due Diligence: An Unfair Attack On Mitt Romney,” CBS News, 8/9/12)
VOICEOVER: “Doesn’t America deserve better than a president who will say or do anything to stay in power?”
VIDEO TEXT: “Doesn’t America Deserve Better?”
MITT ROMNEY: “I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message.”

I’m Robert Stacy McCain, and I approve this message, too. We’ve got to get these lying Chicago scum out of the White House. They’re not just ruining the economy, they’re corrupting our nation’s soul.
UPDATE: Paul Lemmen has some philosophical ruminations on the transcendant evil of Obamunism.

How soon before Jay Carney just starts bringing the bottle out to the podium for the briefings?

The “just to stay in power” phrase is spot on and about time, I’d say. The current regime isn’t about serving the people but rather having power over our lives. That point should be hammered home over and over in as many different ways as possible.

I think I like the cut of this Romney fellow’s jib. More please.

I like this especially because the notion from the establishment GOP has been that Obama does what he does because he’s “incompetent”.
Now that Romney is saying out loud that Obama’s doing what he’s doing because of a lust for power, I’m encouraged.

Pay no attention to the CNN/ORC or FoxNews polls. The all-time record for Democratic dominance of an electorate is 2008’s D+7; when current samples are constituted of D+9 or more, they are in effect saying that the Democrats will reverse the trend of 2010 and actually exceed their advantage of 2008 by 28%.
And if you believe that, I have a special investment opportunity for burial property on the moon that I just know you’ll be interested in. Hey, property is going to run short on Earth, pal.
Meanwhile, back at the reliable pollsters, Rasmussen and Gallup continue to show a tight race varying within a narrow range within the margin of error.
Obama is rapidly diminishing both the office and his own good will. These bogus polls are designed to demoralize our side and attract the mushy middle who votes for whoever they think will be the winner.

There’s something up at Obama HQ – I just can’t figure out what it is [maybe because I think they’re smarter then they really are].
