DNC Endorses State-Sanctioned Sodomy

Posted on | July 31, 2012 | 33 Comments

The Party of Official Perversity:

A plank supporting same-sex marriage will be included as part of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) draft platform, according to an exclusive report at the Washington Blade, which notes it was a unanimous decision.

Fire, brimstone and further updates expected . . .

UPDATE: We are supposed to believe — indeed, the “respectable Republican” types often argue quite vociferously — that only ignorant hateful bigots oppose same-sex marriage. But there are fundamental issues at stake, as I explained in November 2008:

Before he was purged from the bench, former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore made a remarkable and lamentably unappreciated contribution to American jurisprudence.
Concurring in the 2002 case of Ex Parte H.H., a custody dispute involving a lesbian mother, Moore demonstrated that homosexuality had no protected status in the Anglo-American common-law tradition, that indeed such behavior had been proscribed for centuries as “a crime against nature,” and that Alabama courts had consistently condemned homosexual acts as “illegal under the laws of this state and immoral in the eyes of most of its citizens.”
One does not have to share this abhorrence of homosexuality to agree that Moore’s concurrence — copiously studded with court precedents and citations of Blackstone’s Commentaries, 16th-century British jurist Sir Christopher Wray and even the Justinian Code — accurately summarized the legal foundation of the case against gay rights. . . .

Read the whole thing. You may blithely shrug, “To hell with the Anglo-American common-law tradition,” but such a dismissive attitude is a large step down a very slippery slope: Ideas Have Consquences.

UPDATE II: Not directly related, but it’s encouraging to see that Mitt Romney’s (hetero)sex(ual) appeal is still driving ’em crazy.

So the DNC is going to throw ordinary Bible-believing Americans under the bus? That’s one way to lose an election: get us riled up real good.

So, to the DNC we lack the fundamental right to make our own moral decisions.  I am insulted by this on a fundamental level, because it violates the principle I have of “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, clarity.”

The Constitutional Convention are rolling in their graves a little faster now.

Not sure what to make of this, but it smells of desperation.  About the last demographic group that still loves them some Obama are the ignorant young voters and as a group they are strongly for gay “marriage.”  This may be a last attempt to fire them up for a crusade to “change” the country.

Democratic enthusiasm is running at 39% this year while Republicans clock in at 51%.  In 2008, the GOP was at 35%.  Obama needs to change the narrative, and his policies sure aren’t going to turn the economy any which way but loose (huh?).

If he weren’t even more deferential to muslim terrorists than to his own reelection, I would suspect him of planning to “wag the dog” with an Iran strike this fall.  But I don’t think he could bear to hurt his friends so grievously.

It’s a split personality sending a mixed message:  Clinton onstage as a reminder of a Democratic Party he almost revived and a prosperity they now reject, but also gay “marriage” in the platform and Fauxcahontas Warren in the spotlight to remind every little leftist where Obama’s heart is.

The DNC and the Obama administration have already bent each and every Bible-believing American over a barrel to give us somemorrah Gomorrah time and again because no one yet has gotten riled up enough to stop them.  I’m sure they consider it a worthy trade off if they lose an election battle but win the permanent butt-hurt championship, while we patiently await the necrophilism, incest, and goat betrothal planks?

There are no slippery slopes, but rather cliffs we step off of. The illusion of sliding is created by the periodic outcroppings that smack us on the way down.

@rsmccain There is no reason to suspect the DNC will be any less successful than the Episcopal Church in their diversification efforts.

Being conservative is the new rebellion 😉 Everything is coming full circle.

Maybe what we need to be looking at is why conservative values are not being propped up as heartily as they are at the kitchen table. If so conservatives many feel the way they do about the moral compass (try not to lol) of the DNC then why not push more firmly in a more public manner for their beliefs?

I discuss that in my autobiography. I never had an inkling how I was going to turn out. Thank God and loving family and friends I am walking that straight and narrow road of redemption …

Oh but they did.  Glenn Beck rounded up 65,000 conservatives for his “Restoring Love” event, trying to push those beliefs more firmly in a more public manner.  Few reported it, promoted it or mentioned it……even in the conservative blogging community.  That must mean it never happened, right?

Well, and here’s the other problem.  The DNC was lagging behind the conservative hypocracy of the RNC.

This isn’t going to bring many more votes to Romney. Those folks that care that marriage is between a man and a woman moved to the GOP or the TEA Party long ago. Those Xtian churches that instruct from the Bible have been placed in the same class as Al Queda, and the mainstreamers will vote for Obama because he’s not Jerry Falwell and they are so urbane, educated, and modern. This action is just a reminder to the GLBT activists to schedule vacation and prepare to hit the streets.

They threw them under the bus a long time ago; this is aimed at those who don’t pay attention until the final weeks, the ‘live and let live, man’ types.
