Nolte Notion At Breitbart: Ann Romney As Sarah Palin Surrogate

From the Well-That-Makes-Inverted-Lefty-Sense Department:
Ann Romney stepped into the White House’s line of fire by handling the situation … with absolute perfection.
And as she did, let me assure you, Obama’s Media Palace Guards completely freaked out.
Welcome to what will surely become “Palin II: The Nuclear Option.”
We all remember how John McCain so shook up the 2008 race with the VP choice of Governor Sarah Palin, that awful, terrible, no good college-educated, self-made mayor and governor who raised herself a lovely family. And we all remember, how for these sins, a full-court media rampage immediately began that was determined to destroy her. The media lied about Sarah Palin’s record, lied about the massive crowds that came out to see her, and worst of all, they attacked her children.
What we learned from this is that when it comes to protecting the Left and most especially Barack Obama, any virtue the other side holds that might hurt Their Precious One, must be annihilated. Furthermore, Ann Romney isn’t just an asset to her husband’s campaign, she’s also a direct threat to the very heart of Obama’s cynical reelection plans.
Seen through that lens, the Progressive War on Women comes partly into focus. Like the over-the-top assault on Rush Limbaugh over the Sarah Fluke disparagement, which had apparently been on the shelf for a while before instantiation, this seemingly random attack on Ann makes more sense as a leftover attack on Sarah Palin that was dusted off and launched.
Propaganda, too, begs for recycling. The Left invested so much effort into demonizing Sarah Palin that they probably couldn’t help themselves even with a 12-step program.
Given the Limbaugh-limbo and the Romney-o-rama, the Bush whacking this summer promises to be so excruciating, you’ll think yourself in Germany and W of Semitic extraction. This is because, as I realized this afternoon and commented on another post, Progressivism is an allergy to reality, and therefore must always be on the attack.
And here she goes:
Oh, play it, Rush:
I knows me some funny, and that there’s a hoot.
Update: via Instapundit, here is another important point:
This is not just a war of tired old feminists who are trying to justify the fact that most of them paid illegal, undereducated women, many of whom speak little or no English, to raise their children. This transcends Leftist feminist sensibilities and touches upon a core issue in statism — namely, who raises the children?
A small, but relevant, digression here: One of the most interesting books I’ve ever read is Joshua Muravchik’s Heaven On Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism. The title is self-explanatory. I highly recommend the book, simply because it’s so good, but I mention it here because of the chapter involving Israeli kibbutzim, which were intended to represent the purest form of voluntary socialism. Part of the socialist experiment was that children would be raised, not within family units, but as part of the cooperative. Only in that way could the kibbutz defeat unhealthy, selfish individualism and assure a new generation of people dedicated to the movement.
This triggers an idea for a truly bad combination Greek tragedy and Southern romance novel: Antigone with the Wind.

I’m getting tired of this cold war, here’s to a long hot summer.

If they start attacking Ann, I predict it will backfire immensely, as enough of the voting public aren’t idiots, and see this as just another assault on a conservative women. Furthermore, I doubt if the Romney campaign will be as stupid as the McCain campaign in allowing the attacks to go unchallanged. We might actually see Mitt go nuclear, or, at least show some emotion. I’d love to see him pull out a white glove and smack it across some Dems face.
It’s actually a shame that dueling is no longer allowed: might calm some of the overheated rhetoric down, if people knew there were consequences for their hateful attacks.

If the Dems keep this crap up, there may be hope for Mitt after all. Between Obama’s face being stitched onto the American flag, his war on middle America, and now this stuff, he’s pissing off way too many people.

I’m liking the trend towards recommending that dueling make a comeback. One hears the idea more and more frequently these days.

Let’s make it cage fighting instead.

I don’t doubt the whole thing was orchestrated, beginning with the phony “hearing” and Sandra Fluke. The purpose wasn’t to target Ann Romney though, Rosen’s task was to marginalize her to keep the “war on women” meme going. They need to fire up the younger single women and the rest of their base, and to distract the general public attention away from the economy, gas prices, or Obama’s abysmal record of abject failure.
The Democrats fear her somewhat like they did Palin, though. This attempt backfired, but it won’t be the last.

” I’d love to see him pull out a white glove and smack it across some Dems face.”
Only if it’s loaded with a brick to knock some sense into this hacks. Or just because.

Seen on Twitter: “Ann Romney is bad for staying home with her five kids. Sarah Palin is bad for not staying home with her five kids.”
April 14th, 2012 @ 5:38 am
That also includes the outright incitement of racial hatred towards white, conservative people by obama and holder ala ‘white-hispanic’ political proscecution of George Zimmermann, who also has been sacrified at the altar ofbeing ‘Nifonged’!!

That about says it all. Pithy and on the nose.
That should be the universal stamp on the epitaph of the Left’s “War on Women.”
Seriously, there’s just nothing else to say. It’s brilliant.

“What we learned from this is that when it comes to protecting the Left
and most especially Barack Obama, any virtue the other side holds that
might hurt Their Precious One, must be annihilated.”
Nope. What I learned was that BOTH sides will do whatever they can to protect their Precious Ones.
The GOP fell all over itself to shut down legitimate criticisms of some of Bain Capital’s operations. And now these issues will be HUGE for the Dems in the election. But the GOP protected their Precious One.
The GOP is falling all over itself to protect Ann Romney because she’s the Precious One’s wife.
In 2008, the Precious One’s minions threw Palin under the bus, with the full approval of the GOP. To protect the Precious One’s chances of being next in line in 2012.
When Palin was accused of mass murder just over a year ago, the GOP not only didn’t defend her, but many gently accused her as well. Including the Precious One. Because it helped destroy the Precious One’s possible competition.
Let’s see, what’s a worse accusation? Being accused of not having worked a day in your life? Or being accused of mass murder?
Hmm, let me think about it.
And yet the GOP left Palin exposed on the battleground.
And leaps to the defense of the Precious One’s wife.
That’s what I learned.
Both parties have their Precious Ones.

We have the same problem with Ann Romney we had with Sarah Palin: we can’t elect just her.
April 14th, 2012 @ 1:29 pm
Another of the things that bugs me about good old Mitt is his excessive reliance on his wife’s protection — his need to hold her hand in public while he looks nervous or timid, his need of her to help with women’s issues, his continual use of her for introductions and other cameos.
Makes Mitt look like a metrosexual beta male, doncha think?
Good thing Obama doesn’t use his wife that way, or let her wear the trousers in the family. Oh wait, I guess they both…
April 14th, 2012 @ 4:57 pm
Yeah, Palin got messed over royally. And that will, God willing, be remedied (and the weasels on our side who let it happen, or helped it happen, will atone) in due time. And yet I did my little bit to defend Ann Romney, just like I did my little bit to defend Sarah Palin. Not because I’m such a fan of Mitt the Precious. I’m still not sure that he can prosecute this campaign to a win, much less govern as conservatively as I’d like. No, I did it because I am, or at least would prefer to be, a gentleman, not a weasel.
April 14th, 2012 @ 5:40 pm
WOW upside down is MOM! 🙂
April 14th, 2012 @ 6:26 pm
Yeah, Mitt should be a real man, manhandle and maul his wife with a big old stiff French kiss in public like Al Gore did at the 2000 Democrap convention.
Or maybe he should look up Juanita Brodderick. He can rape her just like Clinton did, and show how forgiving his wife is when she stands by him.
Or since his wife is suffering from a serious malady, maybe he could act like John Edwards and screw him some chippy and get her pregnant, to show us all that he is vital and alive, a man with needs and, by God, passion.
Or maybe he should reach out to the homosexual community and take a boyfriend and pay off all his traffic tickets and let him run a male brothel out of his campaign headquarters.
Or maybe he shouldn’t do any of that and just let Democrats and leftists look like stupid fucking fools for complaining about a Republican politician holding his wife’s hand in public.
April 14th, 2012 @ 7:51 pm
I’ve been advocating it since 2001.
OTOH, dueling implies respect for one’s opponent. I don’t respect the Left. One doesn’t duel with a rattlesnake; one kills it with as little risk to oneself as possible…. and no compunction.
April 14th, 2012 @ 7:55 pm
Of course, no one here supported what the GOP pulled with Palin. And if Bain had done anything wrong, Holder and Obama would have already prosecuted.
Just another Lefty liar.

Dressage is a sport of seven-figure horses and four-figure saddles. The monthly
boarding costs are more than most people’s rent. Asked how many dressage horses
she owns, Mrs. Romney laughed. “Mitt doesn’t even know the answer to that,” she
said. “I’m not going to tell you!”Ann RomneyNew York Times 2007

So your saying it’s equally honorable to just walk up behind them and shot them in the head. I can live with that.

And we’re supposed to give a big god damn fried-diddly fuck about this because-
April 14th, 2012 @ 8:47 pm
When choosing a presidential candidate Americans look for a number of qualities, among the foremost of which is strength. That seeming lack in Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George Bush the First led in large part to a loss by the incumbent. This is particularly noticable in the cases of Carter vs Ford and Clinton vs Bush, where the winners were themselves weak men.
We have today a similar situation of two weak men vying for office. Were Mitt able to appear stronger, to somehow put his flip-flopping and equivocation behind himself, to openly show strength of conviction rather than appearing to be acting a part, and not depend on his wife to win the campaign on his behalf, he might stand a chance.
Note that, as always, it doesn’t matter much who actually IS the stronger, since perceptions count most. He who appears the stronger will come out ahead.
I could give more and more-detailed examples from Washington vs anyone to Dole vs Clinton and Dubya vs Gore and Kerry. Better, however, for others to calmly consider the situation rather than respond with a rant.
Romney is a poor candidate, as he has proven in the past and most recently against Santorum. He needs to either get better or pick history’s best VP candidate if he hopes to win. Used wisely, Ann can help him, but used unwisely she can hurt his chances.
The case of Palin is instructive. Had McCain used her properly he would be President today. Instead, through the application of gross stupidity by himself and his staff, he allowed the lefty media to define her, severely diluting her effectiveness. Those who adore Mr Precious should take a lesson.
