Too Stupid for Media Matters

In a sidebar headline at AOSHQ, I noticed a story from The Lid:
BREAKING: MJ Rosenberg OUT At Media Matters
Hmmm. Media Matters fires some guy. What’s this about?
Rosenberg’s offense was describing pro-Israel Jews as “Israel Firsters.” Which is to say, Rosenberg thinks his fellow Jews are too pro-Israel.
Let me see if I can find an appropriate analogy. My ancestors were Scots, and I am generally pro-Scotland. Now, suppose that Ireland got taken over by a bunch of dangerously violent wackjobs who insisted that every problem suffered by the Irish was the fault of those damned sneaky Scots. So the leader of the Radical Wackjob regime in Ireland demagogued almost daily against the Scots, whipping up anti-Scot sentiment amongst the Irish masses and — oh, by the way — Ireland started a kinda secretive nuclear program.
If such a scenario developed, and Scots-Americans urged the U.S. to help protect Scotland against the Irish Wackjob with nuclear ambitions, would anyone blame these “Scotland Firsters”? I think not.
Anyway, Rosenberg got canned at Media Matters and now starts a blog, and is criticizing the U.S. for opposing Iran’s nuclear program. Perhaps Rosenberg can’t figure out this simple equation:
Ahmadinejad + nukes = dead Jews
Does anyone with an IQ above room temperature believe Adhmadinejad’s nuclear program has a peaceful civilian purpose?
Look: You can criticize U.S. foreign policy all you want. But you can’t tell me that Israel’s concerns about a nuclear Iran are illegitimate. And if the U.S. can’t find some way to shut down Ahmadinejad’s nuclear program, Bibi Netanyahu will do whatever Bibi Netanyahu has to do, because the likely consequences of not doing it are too dreadful to contemplate.
What part of “never again” is so hard to understand, huh?
If Rosenberg doesn’t understand that, he deserves the distinction of being known forever as The Liberal Too Stupid to Work at Media Matters.

Yes, but those radical Irish whack-jobs don’t have a millenia-old conspiracy going to dominate the world economy. /sarc
God gave us whiskey to slow us down…

Based on the articles I’ve read about his firing, Rosenberg is one of those people Clive James once described as “a small man with a big message,” who has in the process assumed his message as his ego.
Thus he is more concerened with being TOLD he is right than with BEING right.

just like no one could believe Saddam Hussein didn’t have weapons of mass destruction . . . .

It’s actually possible to be too stupid to work a Media Matters?

I don’t think he was fired for believing it, just for expressing it publicly too clearly. Media Matters is joined at the hip with the Obama campaign, who are desperately trying to appear as if they aren’t going to screw Israel, as much as they would like to.
I wouldn’t put it past Obama to adopt a tougher policy towards Iran for political purposes. They are already talking tough, even after leaking about the secret base Israel had arranged for refueling. If the mullahs pretend to capitulate, Obama will have assured them they can resume their program if he’s reelected.

About what you’d expect from the Irish Catholics [he said in an orange robe].

I’m after assuming it’s an orange robe because it’s the trouble with trouser legs you’ll be having.
One leg each, boyo….

PJ Media as a source? Ever read “SABOTAGE! The Secret War Against America” Those who would prevent America from entering pointless war were considered having sympathies with evil, those who advocated America’s young adults going to war for a non existent threat were patriotic and at the time of the book, god fearing christians doing their duty for freedom and liberty. Forget god these days, Not PC. It’s for democracy. oh AND the liberation from an evil dictator who wasn’t in power when the war prattle began against Iran after 9/11. Dancing Israelis not with standing.
I put America first, second, and above all other nations as my primary concern. Israel? eh, who gives a flyin fu**.

Ahmadinejad + nukes = dead Americans
probably not, remember mutually assured destruction? I know we are concerned with Israel’s well being on this website, but dead Americans caused by Iran’s nuke program seems unlikely to the newly self annoited conservatives. But Israel, look out Israel. Iran might have a nuke program if keyboard Generals who publish an article a couple of times a week are to be believed. Not too many of America’s bravest soldiers, sailors, airmen, or marines seem to feel that it is imperative for their own bodies to be thrown into a conflict with a signatory of the Non Proliferation Treaty. Israel isn’t a signature of the NPT.
Ahmadinejad + nukes = dead Americans, who cares.Ahmadinejad + nukes = dead Jews , send America’s finest, it’s War gdammit. THIS IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE WEBSITE. THIS IS A GLOBALIST WEBSITE with a nationalist slant towards ISRAEL. Only a neo con can appeal to a nationalist ideal for another nation and still be considered conservative.
