Global Warming Cult Playbook Released

Tom Nelson might be onto a scoop here about something called “The Consensus Project”:
- Mainstream Media: This is the key if we want to achieve public consciousness. MSM is an opaque wall to me so ideas welcome. I suspect this will involve developing time lines, building momentum for the idea and consulting with PR professionals like Jim Hoggan.
- Climate Communicators: There needs to be a concerted effort (spearheaded by me) to get climate communicators using these results in their messaging. I’ve been hooking up with a lot of climate communicators over the last month and will be hooking up with more over the next few months so will be discussing these results with every climate communicator I can get hold of, including heavyweights like Susan Hassol and Richard Somerville, to discuss ways of amplifying this message.
Also Ed Maibach is doing research on the most effective way to debunk the “no consensus” myth so I hope to contact him and hopefully include our results in his research. The more we can get climate communicators incorporating our results into their messages, the better.
Read the whole thing. To tweak the legal saying: If you’ve got the data, pound the data. I’ve you’ve got the model, pound the model. Since you jackwagons have neither, pound sand.
The Global Warming hoax is going to raise the skepticism factor in all scientific endeavor, which will be good for science in the long run. In the short run, we’ve got a squeaky chorus of #OccupyScience creeps to endure.
On a related note, the Department of Energy is looking especially stupid in the Solyndra context.

Tom Nelson’s post is a fascinating read, but it sounds like this “Consensus Project” is a desperate grasp for relevancy, and the author more so.
My God, he/she even references Tim Lambert, one of the lamest goreball warmening enthusiasts EVAH. He posts at his “Deltoid” blog maybe once or twice a month.

From what I have read, they’ve already cleared their objectives to a large degree.
They have gotten quite a lot of the populace believing in at least global warming/climate change — the hook about it being man made is being soft peddled, for now. They are now prompting people to take measures to safeguard themselves against its more nefarious acts (which are also somehow a given).

I know The Weather Channel (or as I now call it, TWNBC), which occasionally mewled about Gullible Warming last winter when the glaciers were about to grind Detroit under, has launched a full court press on it this winter and spring because most of the Lower 48 has experienced unusually mild conditions thanks to La Niña.
The fact Europe and Alaska were snowed under was mentioned but never correlated into the narrative; those events were obviously weather, not climate.
The other day TWNBC interviewed some dolt who said (paraphrasing), “Forty degrees difference from last year. It’s crazy.” He said this in Chicago, in March — where in any other year there would be nothing at all crazy about a forty degree difference from LAST WEEK.

The Media are understaffed and lazy. Send them a media release with a bloody headline and they’ll print it.

The raison d’etre for Skeptical Science, or SS as we like to say, is to provide True Believers with immediate rebuttals for each and every perceived skeptical argument against Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming. This is the go to site for the brave little Reavers who muster the intestinal fortitude to tangle with well-educated “deniers.” John Cook, proprietor.
