I Never Heard of a ‘Fair Fight’

Have you ever been sucker-punched or kicked in the head? I have.
These are not experiences I would recommend to anyone, although such experiences can be quite valuable life lessons. When you’re in a fight that begins when somebody punches you without warning and if, during the course of such a fight your assailant then kicks you in the head, you understand that rules of “fairness” are not universally recognized.
When somebody is determined to whup your ass, without regard to any concern for what is “fair,” you must recognize that the only alternative is to whup his ass by whatever means or methods are available.
Jeff Goldstein ponders the progressive “morality” of Stanley Fish and, of course, the only morality Fish recognizes is the Triumph of Progressivism.
This is what Amy Alkon discovered when the Left tried to destroy her career: The radicalism described in Herbert Marcuse’s notorious 1965 essay “Repressive Tolerance” is now almost universally embraced by the Democratic Party and its supporters. These are not your father’s Democrats.
Anyone who thinks today’s Democrats are interested in “compromise” or “bipartisanship,” is a fool. You cannot negotiate with them. You cannot expect fairness from them. You can either defeat them, or else be subjected to their absolute authority.

Yes, these are your fathers Democrats. Well maybe not your father, but Bill Daley’s father and Alexandra Pelosi’s mother.

They’ve even intimidated us into using the oh-so-chic-sounding “progressive” to describe their brand of leftist extremism.
Remember, our great-granfathers’ “progressives” used the term until it became toxic due to their association with communism, whereupon they stole the “liberal” description until they ran that into the ground, too, and most people had long forgotten why they hated “progressives” in the first place, so they reverted.

I prefer “power mad, jack booted, totalitarian thugs” myself, but many a good person was led astray by that “progressive” and “liberal” branding, or even by the term “democrat”.
But in fairness, it’s a rot that has taken over every political ideology — the PMJBTT’s are everywhere sadly. We have not been vigilant and will thus pay the price.

Was gonna type the same thing exactly.

Yeppers. The GOP is no better because they won’t stand up to any of the thugs.
March 19th, 2012 @ 4:39 pm
Agreed. It is war. Start acting like it.

Preach. Not only does the GOP need to take off the gloves, they need to put on the brass knuckles, and bloody some progressive proboscises. And if conservatives need to pound some sense into the RINOs to get the point across, may they also not be spared. After all, this is not about gamesmanship… better brass knuckles now, than Chinese shackles later. Let the smackdown begin.

Unfortunately some of them are likely in league with the thugs, or setting up their own team of thugs :/

All true. Politics is how we conduct war in a civil manner. These are literally campaigns for the country. Deaths? Currently minimal. Consequences? All too real.
This isn’t fun and games except to those who profit from the chaos and incite the riots. Let there be no mistake, however. It is an ongoing war. If we only halt the progressivism of Marxists, we’ll still have lost. We actually need a reversal from the path we’ve traveled, and frankly, I don’t see it happening.

Absolutely true, and I wish it weren’t. We have to get down in the filth with these power-sucking vampires, things are going to get VERY ugly, and I fear this country is heading for a reprise of the violence of almost half a century ago. G-d, I miss Andrew Breitbart; going into this, we need him, and a myriad like him.

” Hell, I’ll kill a man in a fair fight… or if I think he’s gonna start
a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there’s a woman, or if I’m
gettin’ paid – mostly only when I’m gettin’ paid.” — J. Cobb, proud gun owner and economic redistributionist.

More like the violence in 1860.

A “Fair Fight” is one you’ve already lost.
