     I’m sorry your comment vanished, it wasn’t on purpose! I have had tech issues and needed to do lots of tinkering so it may have gotten eaten when I had to turn DISQUS off & on.

     I got lucky, turns out that the same deal that got me my own domain as part of the signup with my internet provider also gave me my own hosting power (which I have apparently had for over a year and didn’t even know it!). I just needed to talk to the right tech support people to figure it out. It was a huge pain in the ass though, which is why nobody’s heard much from me since Friday and my poor husband is like the “I married a nerd girl widower”, which is sort of like how some wives are “football widows”.
    Just a few more fixes to go and it should be allright though. It doesn’t help that I don’t know what I’m doing and learning as I go.
    It should be easier for you when you go, probably, because you’re not on Blogger.

    Would that I could afford to move off of Blogger…they’ve “lost” my blog 4 times in the past week…it just disappeared from the web.

    Unfortunately, paying the rent is more important, so I’m basically screwed…when I afford the rent that is…wish the wife could find a full time job…wish Obama were out of office…wishes…{big sigh}…

     WOW, that’s terrible! Download your blog to your PC so you have a backup of your posts in case they decide to screw you over even worse.
    Start looking into various hosting options, it might not be that expensive if you look in the right places, find out how much you’ll need to get and let me know so I can rattle your jar from my place and encourage other bloggers and readers to help you out.
    Because I had to teach myself to do a lot of things when moving off of Blogger, I may be able to offer some sort of useful advice if you need help when you move.
    Blogging friends Maggie of Maggie’s Notebook and 1389 of the 1389 Counterjihad blog have both said they could offer advice about finding a new server, I suggest talking to them. I got lucky with mine since I apparently have had access to it all along so I don’t know much about finding a new server. Mine is kind of primitive and everything has to be done manually, a pricier option may be less of a PITA.
