Santorum Daughter Hospitalized

NAPLES, Fla.
Earlier this evening, Cynthia Yockey told me about this story, which is now reported by Associated Press:

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum canceled his Sunday morning campaign events and planned to spend time with his hospitalized daughter.
“Rick and his wife Karen are admitting their daughter Bella to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia this evening,” spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement Saturday night, adding “Rick intends to return to Florida and resume the campaign schedule as soon as is possible.”
Santorum had been scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and attend church in Miami. Officials did not cancel Sunday’s afternoon events in Sarasota and Punta Gorda.
sabella Santorum has Trisomy 18, a genetic condition caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 18th chromosome.

    I am very sorry to hear this.  I wish and pray that she can go home as soon as possible to her family.

    God bless Bella. I like Newt from a technical standpoint, but on character Rick beats all of them hollow(especially a SCOAMF who actually advanced legislation to forcibly let children who survived abortions die). I’d be proud to pull the lever for Rick in November.

    The Santorums appear to be a very balanced, loving, and healthy family.  They show true character and substance in standing up for their principles.

    While Rick Santorum may not be the perfect candidate (as if one exists anywhere), I will continue to hope that he can hang in this race until such a time as one of the two drama queens currently ahead of him in the polls craters.

    Thank you Senator for defending American core values and exceptionalism.  Prayers for your daughter Bella and for the entire family.

    For all of the things that I may disagree with Santorum’s policies, it would perhaps be better to have a president who considered people in this fashion (re: the video clip) than the alternative.

    Character should count for something.
