Michele Bachmann Flyer Omits Comparison to Records of Santorum, Paul

JOHNSTON, Iowa
During my visit to the Iowa headquarters of Michele Bachmann in nearby Urbandale today, I picked up a copy of a slick full-color flyer being distributed by her campaign (see front and back photos below).

The 8½-by-11-inch flyer urges Iowa Republicans to “Vote for a Consistent Conservative” and includes an issue-by-issue comparison between the Minnesota congresswoman and three of her GOP presidential rivals, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Click the image to enlarge:

Who’s missing from that comparison? Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. One might speculate as to why certain candidates were chosen for that comparison and others omitted, including the possibility that Romney, Gingrich and Perry are the three Republican rivals whom Bachmann likes least in the current field.

    Yea, she’s our hero…………..

    Notice she didn’t include a box with a bright yes next to it for: No accomplishment backbencher who gained attention by tossing hand grenades and falsehoods.  Or another bright yes to a box for: Tried desperately to gain Romney’s approval by kneecapping everyone who got close to him

    Apparently she thinks Iowa voters are stupid enough not to notice the omissions.  What a dumb tactic…meant to fool only dumb voters and will likely only insult the smart ones.  

    My respect for her continues to decline further.

    Of course, she could have added, never made a hot video sitting on a love seat beside a Democrat acting like a progressive. But then again, there would have only been one yes for that one, so not that much contrast.

    They were probably printed before the Paul and Santorum surges. Her campaign probably didn’t think at the time that either would be so competitive.

    Nobody would bother to ask her to do much of anything, in as much as our unblemished angel hasn’t accomplished spit, other than toss hand grenades and hurl falsehoods, besides kneecapping anybody who got in the way of Romney, and Romney is of course such a wonderfully pristine conservative… that of course Bachmann hadn’t any trouble shilling for him.

    Just wait till her endorsement comes out.

    Who do you think she’s going to be endorsing…..

    Lisa, who knows what her campaign is thinking.  At first we thought she was earnestly campaigning, then we started having sneaking suspicions that she was doing Romney’s bidding, and now with Campaign chairmans jumping ship, and former campaign staff stating clearly what many of us have for some months now suspected,  ———— who knows what’s going on in Bachmannworld.

    When the debates had hardly started yet she started tearing off after Pawlenty, who hadn’t done much yet to earn anyone’s ire, ———– that was when I began to sense something amiss.

    Then she went after Perry, as if he had been a board member of Planned Parenthood or something…….

    It was just bizarre.

    Recalling to mind the entire Gardasil drama, it seems surreal the amount of energy and poison that our unblemished angel devoted to the subject and her target, Perry.

    Now all the while this was going on, that sacred cow Romney was there for her to go after, but she consistently chose to glide by him, like the angel of death passing over in the movie the Ten Commandments.

    But with the latest falsehoods hurled Gingrich’s way…………

    Whoever gets the nomination. And if she endorses somebody before the nomination is decided, probably Romney, because she’s smart enough to know the same thing I’ve figured out but which I doubt you have, or will be able to accept. And that is, Romney is going to be the nominee. The fix is in. My advice-deal with it.

    There isn’t that much difference between Bachmann and Santorum ideologically. Why should she bother drawing a contrast between her and a candidate with whom there is little contrast.

    There seems to be quite a contrast between her and Romney, according to this campaign brochure from her. Of course, I’m sure that’s just her way of cleverly denying that she is not really trying to compete against Romney. Like we’re going to fall for that.

    Harummmph! Women!

    As for Paul, why in the hell go to the trouble. Paul is out of the loop. His voters are his voters, and they will vote for no one else but Paul. With them, its Paul, or nobody. At least, no other Republican. And at the same time, no real Republican voter is going to vote for Ron Paul. Why waste the paper? Why waste the ink? Why waste the time?

    Yes, the fix is in.

    But no, this isn’t over yet.

    Romney still has to travel south, and there are millions just like me who are livid with the fix being in, and who resent and resist this obnoxious attempt to dictate to us our nominee.

    Well, what sort of deceitful crap do you expect from someone who hires the likes of Ed Rollins and the execrable Wes Donohue?  Extremely misleading.

    Romney, Perry, and Gingrich never really had the opportunity to “sponsor legislation defending traditional marriage” since the first two weren’t legislators and Gingrich was Speaker (who does not by tradition sponsor bills) when it became an issue.

    None of them were in Congress to vote against TARP.

    Romney and Gingrich oppose a national right-to-work law as a violation of the 10th Amendment.  That’s a more conservative position than favoring one, no matter how much the policy appeals to us.

    Bachmann has demonstrated an alarming lack of integrity in this campaign.  When it began, I doubted her experience but thought she was a strong spokesman for conservative principles.  After Gardisil – Tardisil, hiring Rollins and Donohue, dodging the record of Medicaid reimbursements by her husband’s clinic, claiming Gingrich was buying Tea Party support in SC, and accusing Sorenson of being bought by Paul, I do not consider her an honest person at all.

    Yeah, what we need is a candidate who will explain clearly, concisely, and honestly where he stands on all the issues.

    You know, a man like Mitt Romney.

    YOu had me going until you said “10th Amendment.”  Both Romney and Gingrich seem to believe that everything the federal government does is absolutely essential…I just can’t swallow they’ve picked that one single issue to suddenly go all constitutional on.
