The Tea Party Budget

For a printout and a quick glance, The Tea Party Budget scoops Congress in general and the Stupor Committee in particular. Sure, #OccupyResoluteDesk, as well.

To achieve these goals, our plan, among other things:

  • Repeals ObamaCare in toto.
  • Eliminates four Cabinet agencies — Energy, Education, Commerce, and HUD — and reduces or privatizes many others, including EPA, TSA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac.
  • Ends farm subsidies, student loans, and foreign aid to countries that don’t support us — luxuries we can no longer afford.
  • Saves Social Security and greatly improves future benefits by shifting ownership and control from government to individuals, through new SMART Accounts.
  • Gives Medicare seniors the right to opt into the Congressional health care plan.
  • Suspends pension contributions and COLAs for Members of Congress, whenever the budget is in deficit.

Kind of like the ancient military recruiting ad: “What a great place, it’s a great place–To Start!”

This blog calls on all the GOP candidates to either (a) substantially adopt this plan or (b) offer substantive reasons why not.  Note that (c) ignore it will be interpreted as an admission of “Yes, I’m a Ruling Class Tool”.

Sadly, I don’t expect any of the GOP candidates to locate the intestinal fortitude to do much with this. Which is why I’ll probably write in Sarah Palin in the primary.

Admittedly, Ron Paul has already offered ideas along some of these lines. Running with this could be Rick Santorum’s breakout chance, since Herman Cain is all about Cool #9.

As far as people already in office, the gutless surrender monkeysSenate managed to wet itself rather than pay attention. No sympathy here. If you’re an organization like the U.S. Senate, headed by Gollum Reid, and you’re the better part of a thousand days into blowing your job off, you look really, really stupid if you admit that some common-sense conservatives could do in 36 pages what your impotent organization couldn’t even get halfway to failure on for less than 2,000.

With Boehner as Speaker none of it will happen…

I love a good plan and that is a good plan… which is exactly why this one will fail.

But I hope the Tea Party Challenge remains. We put them there in the first place. I’m going to assume we can still kick them out.

If Romney’s the Rep candidate, I don’t think we have a choice but to write in Sarah Palin.

If I’m going to be screwed over by socialists, I’d rather that they didn’t blow smoke up my ass telling me how conservative all these new programs and spending is.

I think it’s time that someone start a write in campaign. She doesn’t want to run? Neither does Limbaugh. Let’s write both of them in, see if they have the nerve to refuse.

I know it’ll definitely be a cut in pay for Limbaugh but if his countrymen are calling for his leadership, he shouldn’t be able to refuse.

If it happens and he does refuse, he’s finished and so is the country.

It’s not a matter of whether they would have the nerve to refuse, they’d have to get enough votes to win in order to demonstrate that. And that won’t happen. Palin doesn’t want within a mile of this shit, and I don’t blame her a bit.

That plan would make a good start. EPA cannot be reformed it is too thoroughly infested with moonbats to ever function as anything other than a de-development organization.

I love Sarah Palin, but how many inefficient divisions has she shut down?  How many employees has she laid off in restructuring an operation for efficiency and survival?

Eliminating departments requires laying people off.  You can’t save money if you just shift their positions to a different bureaucracy.

The one big advantage Romney brings over all the others is that he has done it successfully over and over, with enough success to earn himself a quarter of a billion dollars in the process and making enough other people millionaires to form a wide network of donors who love him for saving their investments, their family businesses.

Say whatever else you will, but the guy knows how to downsize effectively.

Not sure what the plan for the Census is if Commerce is eliminated, but certainly there are many of its current functions and projects which could be scratched.  Energy, Education, and HUD are all good for the axe.

EPA is an agency, and one which tends to overstep their boundaries.  That is the fault of the law and the Congress.  Congress needs to rewrite the whole EPA book to clarify what they may NOT do, and amend the ESA to quit disrupting agriculture and development to save rodents, tiny fish of no particular ecological significance, and insects.  And sunset all current and new regulations so that they must be justified every ten years, or else expire.

The problem is he has little or no interest in downsizing the government.

The current denizens of that hive of scum and villainy need to be removed permanently and forever from any government employment of any kind, there are NO measures I would consider to be too extreme in accomplishing that minimum economic reform.

He does? What government bureaucracy has Romney EVER reduced. What entrenched interest has he EVER fought.

He has no desire, or inclination, to fight the Establishment, because he ‘is’ the Ruling Class.

Adjoran, don’t get me wrong, I’m not promoting Palin any more, because she has said explicitly she’s not running and I take her at her word, though admittedly if she changed her mind I certainly would be fine with that, to put it lightly.

But you’re just wrong. She had experience in reforming bureaucracies before she ever became governor, when she was put in charge of Alaska’s energy regulatory agency, which unfortunately I can’t think of the proper name of it right now. That, not being Mayor of Wasila, was the main thing that enabled her to be elected governor. And once she achieved that office, she proved more than capable of reining in the excesses of the Alaska legislature, and by that I mean the excesses of the state GOP as much as the Democrats. Probably more, actually, since the GOP is after all the dominant party.

Why do you think it is she became such a wildly popular choice as John McCain’s running mate? And, by the way, why do you think she is so unpopular with so many elements of the Republican establishment, and before you answer that, yes there is such a thing.

She’s had plenty of experience bringing the beast to bear, and has done so with no apologies. She’s a living example of the old saying “let no good deed go unpunished”.

How many government cabinet and regulatory agencies has Mitt reined in again? Thank you.

The best thing to do would be to just scrap the damn EPA. Let the states conduct their own energy policy and if there’s any violations, let the damn courts handle it, that’s what they’re for.

What I want to know is when did the damn Labor Department become so damn popular? Why the hell isn’t it being included in discussions of what gets the axe. They ought to be among the first to go.

Pull the fire alarm….send the police dogs through to make sure everyone is out….swing the wrecking ball at the EPA HQ…..sell property to gun store owner.

Sadly, I don’t expect any of the GOP candidates to locate the intestinal fortitude to do much with this.

    Texas Governor Rick Perry
thrashed the ethanol issue in corn country Tuesday, arguing the federal
government should get out of the business of picking winners and losers
and end federal subsidies to energy businesses, including the ethanol
industry that looms so large in Iowa.
“[W]hether you’re in the oil and gas business, the tax credits they
get, whether you’re in the ethanol business and the renewable fuel
standard or whether you’re in the wind side, from Washington DC, I do
not think it is the federal government’s business to be picking winners
and losers in frankly any of our energy sources,” Perry said to a forum
on manufacturing jobs in Pella, Iowa.

Census didn’t start out as part of Commerce. There were only three Cabinet positions originally: War, State, and Attorney General.

In Commerce there are two functions that should be retained, Census will have to be retained and is one of those things you have to put somewhere and it goes where the least bad fit is.

The National Geodetic Survey is the other as it is the prime charting and mapping control organization for country.

Those two things are an extremely small part of Commerce however, and would not even leave a hollow shell. They’re a bit of dust by comparison.
