‘Sugar Baby’ Seeks ‘Successful Mentor’

Her name is Julia Biryukova and her toddler is missing:
The website offers a “secure place for like-minded Sugar Daddies, Mommies and Sugar Babies to meet each other.”
JB signed up to be a sugar baby, “which means she’s looking for someone wealthy to take care of her,” Wade said. JB said she is “looking for financial stability and assistance.”
“I am looking for a successful mentor,” the profile said. “I am looking for a REAL man. YOU tell me YOUR ‘ideal’ arrangement!”
The profile says JB expects “$3,001 – $5,000 monthly.”
The profile page features nine photographs of Biryukova and describes her as 30 years old, a nonsmoker and nondrinker who can “speak fluent Russian, Ukrainian and English” and lives in Redmond. The last time JB accessed the account was Oct. 26, Wade said.
Biryukova, 30, is a native of Ukraine. She moved to the United States as a child and has an apartment in Redmond. She and her husband, Solomon Metalwala, are involved in a divorce and child custody dispute.
Biryukova told police she left her 2-year-old son, Sky Metalwala, alone in her car Nov. 6 and went to get gas with her 4-year-old daughter. She said that when she came back about an hour later, Sky was gone.
Police said the car started and ran fine when they took it for a test drive. Investigators said they have been frustrated that Biryukova has not answered questions about discrepancies in her story.
Could an anthropological essay be written about this? Of course. We remember the case of Susan Smith, who drowned her two young children because her new boyfriend wasn’t interested in becoming a stepfather. High rates of divorce and illegitimacy have put a lot of women into situations similar to Biryukova’s, where motherhood impairs their romantic prospects.
Biryukova’s evident belief that she might fetch more than $3,000 a month in support as some rich man’s “sugar baby” certainly casts suspicion on her in this case. How would a 30-year-old divorced mom fare in such market? And how much would she improve her market position by striking “mom” from her profile?
This is a larger problem symbolized by this situation and it would be worth an essay, were I in the mood to write an essay.

This is really terrible. That poor kid. I hope he is alright.

Find the child first. Crucify the mother for being a creep next.
As for how she’ll fare? She’s got all the laws of the land in her favor. Her soon to be ex is going on a beans & weenies diet for the next decade.

I am very much in favor of allowing parents to give up their children to the state, provided they terminate all parental rights. Not that I trust the state so much, but only such a termination will allow speedy adoption of these children. There is such a demand for children due to various parents facing biological hurdles (see Stacy’s post below). We need to make the ability of getting unwanted kids with decent loving parents easier not harder.

I think they have a decent case for child abandonment whether they find the boy or not.

Hopefully she just has the kid hid out somewhere while pretending he was kidnapped. She didn’t want to give her husband custody or visitation. So its something to hope for, that if she cared that much she’d be unlikely to hurt the kid. But you never can tell. One things for sure, one reason this country is going down the toilet is because there’s way too many fucking people like this here. Prosperity does that to people, and there’s damn sure nothing exceptional about us in that regard.

Well, she should probably inquire of good old Joe Pa
His pension of 554,000 a year should let him afford to mentor a couple of needful ladies such as Julia, aka SugarBaby

She fought with her ex-husband for child custody. Was it just for the child support payments and not for the child? Couldn’t she just give up the child to her ex-husband? Her ex-husband’s parents?
Someone?
I don’t know how much any of this has to do with the kid’s disappearance but could we go just 1 week without something really frigging awful happening to kids? 1 day?

I think I would come up with a more innocent sounding story than leaving my two year old son alone in a car for an hour. Or is she playing dumb for sympathy? She sounds like the manipulative type who would.

Why does it take an hour to get gas?
I’m all in favor of trusting parents, and I don’t think they have an obligation to spend *all* their time with *all* their kids. It’s not healthy for anyone.
But, in all seriousness, I can’t think of a reason this would take an hour. The most I can imagine is, what?, ten minutes. And that is really, really pushing it.
There is something really, really wrong here.

I don’t see how that would work. If anything, I’d check out the estranged husband.
Let’s say she is hiding her son out and pretending he was kidnapped. Let’s say she gets away with it – HIGHLY unlikely. She would still be crushed in family court.
All her estranged husband has to do is point out that, according to her own testimony, she left a two y/o alone in a public place for an hour, during which time the child was kidnapped.
He could claim she’s a negligent parent. He could get full custody, if he wants it.
If this is parental douchbaggery, then it’s more likely to be her soon-to-be-ex trying to discredit her in the custody hearings. Or even just taking his son abroad to somewhere he has family.
If he’s caught, expect to hear a lot of whining about how unfaaaair the custody system is. If that happens, this will be one case where I won’t have sympathy.
BUTBUTBUT…
Find the child first, before casting any stones. I know we’re all just tossing out theories, but making sure Sky is safe is the main priority. None of us know what happened.

Just to remind everyone, the article makes it look like the police aren’t sure that Biryukova was the one who set up the account. I don’t think this is fair reporting.
This entire situation makes my skin crawl, but I’d be more concerned about the fact that she left Sky alone in a car for an hour, than a profile we’re not sure belongs to her.

The article is saying the police think she is lying about leaving skty alone, not that she faked the personal ad for a sugar daddy. Her story of abandoning sky is not a very plausible one because he does not make her look like an innocent victim of child kidnapping.

Have we considered the possibility that she sold the child?
