Who Lost The GOP Economics Debate

Candidates who:
- Accept that working through the IMF to help out Europe is a good idea.
- Accept the continued evil of the Federal Reserve.
- Accept the existence of the IRS, and want to change the shade of lipstick on the pig.
- Accept that the existence of Fannie and Freddie is justified. Unwind them. With a shotgun.
- Think that bi-partisanship is possible. You make the case for liberty. Reaching across the aisle to mix with fascism is ++ungood.
- Think that Social Security is some kind of moral imperative. ‘Moral’ is a subjective, religious call. However, Social Security is not even an ethical consideration. It’s a 10th Amendment violation. Screw Social Security. To the wall. With a bridge abutment. Liberty, Mike Foxtrot: liberty!
- Accept that federal involvement with individual student funding is acceptable.
- Would dare to panda to China. Everyone knows that China eats, shoots and leaves.
From the Department of Just Sayin’:
Overall, it was a good debate, modulo one moment of sheer agony brought on by Rick Perry. Come on, man!

From what I heard, the main ones that lost the debate were the moderators. Didn’t they get heavily booed a couple of times by the audience for trying to bring up the Cain controversy? I didn’t see the debate myself. Was the damn thing even televised. I looked for it and couldn’t find it.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:00 am
Maria was both sassy and bitchy and …but I denounced myself over comments before so let’s leave it at that.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:01 am
Maria was bitchy and sassy, but I denounced myself.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:03 am
Kramer was weird. But I generally like CNBC commentators. They are far better than any of the cable or network commentators, including Fox.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:09 am
But if I am thinking inapprorpiate thoughts about Maria, why did I get the impression Newt was doing the same with Huntsman?
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:15 am
“You make the case for liberty. Reaching across the aisle to mix with fascism is ++ungood.”
I really don’t think I’ll ever understand why the standard GOP voter as represented by internet comments ends up more repulsed by libertarian philosophy than socialist philosophy. If you compromise with liberals, you get liberal, because they don’t ever stop coming after what they want. If you compromise with libertarians, you get conservative, because the libertarians get mad and go home.
November 10th, 2011 @ 1:34 am
if you want the “money honey”, pick her up in a gulfstream, loaded with coke.
November 10th, 2011 @ 2:56 am
You list just leaves Ron Paul…
I didn’t know you were a Ron Paul fan.
November 10th, 2011 @ 3:49 am
You wouldn’t pull this crap if The Chairman of the Board were still alive.
At least, you wouldn’t pull it twice.
November 10th, 2011 @ 4:10 am
Libertarians mostly just want to be left alone.
November 10th, 2011 @ 4:26 am
Kramer thought the debate was about him. IOW he took the opportunity to hyperventilate (as his shtick mandates) with his questions. He came across as buffoonish as he tried to stand out. I couldn’t even pay attention to his questions through his emphatics. “Give it a rest, Buddy!” went my inner monologue.
November 10th, 2011 @ 4:29 am
Yes. Yes she was. And Newt let her know about it. God bless him. Who scorned her in debate prep I wonder?
November 10th, 2011 @ 4:36 am
The moderators and Perry, but mostly Perry. He provided the best blooper reel for the MFM that they could have imagined. The narrative had already been set about Perry’s national-level debating skills and that pretty much made things indelible.
I don’t see how he recovers no matter how his actual record might buttress a viable candidacy.
November 10th, 2011 @ 4:46 am
The real winner tonight was the media. They controlled the narrative, and assured that GOP voters weren’t able to actually get any real information from the candidates. Perry’s stumble was pretty frightful. If Debate Newt was the same person as Real Life Newt, he would likely be the frontrunner. Cain did fairly well. Ron Paul actually came across as sane for a change. Romney must’ve heard jokes about his hair, because it looked like he didn’t comb it.
I certainly wouldn’t have called this event a debate. The candidates need to follow what Newt and Cain did in their one on one debates and stop participating in the hostile media’s dog and pony shows. The overall winner of tonight’s debate was the people that didn’t watch it.
November 10th, 2011 @ 6:04 am
Your list definitely leaves Ron Paul as the clear winner, including the online poll on CNBC.com after the debate concluded he won once again by a significant amount. Leave it to the reporters to report their opinions as otherwise and people to perceive it as “fact”.
Wake UP AMERICA!

[…] The Other McCain: Who Lost The GOP Economics Debate […]
November 10th, 2011 @ 7:59 am
Yes wake up America, there are Paultards spamming your polls.
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:20 am
Ron Paul dropped a huge truth bomb. The Fed loans money to the banks at 0% , then the banks buy Treasuries that pay them 3% interest. Funded and guaranteed by the taxpayer.
But nobody noticed it.
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:21 am
At least this year the Cain train making a contest of it!
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:30 am
Publicly schooled morons can’t do basic math, much less analyze the Tholian Web the banksters have woven around us in regulation, bs laws, and outright tyranny.
Ron Paul is the Establishment’s worst nightmare. Praying for Andrew Jackson’s guardian angels to be assigned to him.
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:32 am
Hey this is an equal opportunity spamming country. Why aren’t the Cainanites spamming too?
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:41 am
How dare you, Admiral, defame the memory of Francis Albert in this way!
My second will contact your second in a minute!
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:50 am
I’m not sure I agree that non-interventionism is a workable foreign policy. On domestic policy, Paul tends toward spot-on.
November 10th, 2011 @ 8:50 am
Yet you’re strangely comfortable with the Santorum juxtaposition. . .
November 10th, 2011 @ 10:02 am
Because Nicholas Cage is cool…therefore one suspects Rick Santorum is cool….which since I like them both is….cool.
Cool man. Peace out.
November 10th, 2011 @ 10:04 am
Too classy. 🙂
That was way too easy.
November 10th, 2011 @ 10:05 am
Liberty and Virtue are inseparable. Single Issue Ethical Systems are too easily twisted to monstrosity. And finally, Morality ain’t subjective.
November 10th, 2011 @ 10:21 am
That is what libertarians say, but their actions say otherwise.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:01 pm
Hey I take my cues from my consistent, principled and classy Dr. Paul. Anyone notice how he tried to help Perry out of the hole by whispering HUD!, HUD! He doesn’t have to sing hymns for people to know he’s a Christian, his whole life screams it.
November 10th, 2011 @ 12:25 pm
Why do you hate the Cherokee?
November 10th, 2011 @ 1:42 pm
Allow me to educate you:
On January 30, 1835, British native, Richard Lawrence fired a pistol at Andrew Jackson as he left the East Portico. It misfired. He whipped out another pistol, which also misfired. The would-be assassin was restrained by Davy Crockett himself. When the pistols were tried later, they fired perfectly every time. Thus the guardian angel reference. The Banksters are widely suspected to have been behind that attempt as Jackson rescinding the banks charter pulled a ripe plum of an economy out of their hands.
As a Tennessean I am part Cherokee like anyone else, and I don’t make excuses for what the State did to those people. Jackson violated private property rights. That’s why Russell Means, popular Native American activist, was an early Ron Paul supporter.
