‘Money Is Fungible’: ObamaCare and the Fight to Defund Planned Parenthood
Posted on | October 13, 2011 | 33 Comments
Calling for Congress to pass the Protect Life Act — which would prevent Planned Parenthood from getting funded by ObamaCare — Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life said: ““Money is fungible. Taxpayers should not be involuntary donors to the abortion industry and health care workers’ conscience rights must be protected.” (Click here for full statement.)
“Under this bill, when the Republicans vote for this bill today, they will be voting to say that women can die on the floor and health care providers do not have to intervene if this bill is passed. It’s just appalling.”
And other Democrats are following Pelosi’s lead:
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) on Thursday charged House Republicans of misogynous motives in bringing up a bill that seeks to limit federal funding for abortion.
“What my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are attempting to do is misogynist,” Speier said on the House floor. “It is absolutely misogynist.”
“This bill goes to the farthest extreme in trying to take women down, not just a peg, but to take in shackles to some cave somewhere,” Speier said.
Hey, remember when Democrats were demanding that we tone down the rhetoric? Remember “civility”? So now Democrats are calling Republicans misogynists who want women to die, or to put them “in shackles to a cave somewhere.”
Civility! If it weren’t for double-standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.

Defund Planned Parenthood and NPR.
I do not want to pay for them.

Nancy Pelosi is going nuts? I think you mean “more nuts” (if that’s even possible.)

I love how Progs & Womyn want government ‘out of their wombs’ but not out of their wombs.
October 13th, 2011 @ 11:45 pm
I wonder if Rep. Pelosi got her idea for that comment after reading about British healthcare and especially how well the government handles maternity.
(Note: both links go to the DailyMail tabloid. Possibly NSFW. Also, the Mail is no friend of the right, but they do like to cover the salacious stuff, like women giving birth in hospital elevators.)

Speaking as a Catholic, why hasn’t Nancy Pelosi been loudly and firmly excommunicated? (No hate, please: this is not 1500; today, all it means is that she’s being told to find another religion, being irretrievably out of touch with core teachings.)
Oh, yeah. Sorry–keep forgetting. She’s “right on” about the “Social Justice” stuff (socialized health care, Marxist wealth redistribution, corrupt elite oligarchy ruling the benighted masses, etc.). And everyone knows that being “right on” about “Social Justice” whitewashes everything else.

No going nuts is just a really short trip for her.
October 14th, 2011 @ 12:00 am
I don’t think we had shackles when we were in caves.

Nothing Catholic about SanFranNan- St Peter is going to smack her upside the head

[and it was doing so well for a while, too. *sigh*]

Yeah, great example of conservative civility there… that too in a discussion thread of a blog post in which the author complains about the incivility and dooooouble standards of his liberal oppressors.

Dungbat.

God forbid if your wives get raped and got pregnant, I’m sure you guys will force your women to carry the seed to term (since the govt. won’t enforce) and show the same caring as if it were your own blood and post the baby pics with great pride on your blogs. I wonder.

Ever heard of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave? Fuckin’ numbnut.

Dingnut.

Did you fail Reading Comprehension?
Or are you just a liar?
Stacy NEVER “complains about the incivility” at all, he merely points out the double standard of the Leftists like Obama who demand civility from their opponents without ever observing it themselves. You’re whining about a civility we never offered, demanded, or promised.
But we’ve already seen the sort of perverted filth you enjoy, so it’s extra funny to see you trying to impose standards, you degenerate wretch.
And I mean that with all due respect.
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:38 am
Once again you engage in non sequitor. You are not against abortion with only a rape and incest exception, so why pretend you are?
If you will agree to stop funding the killing of all babies NOT the result of rape or incest, we’ll consider it a great start. But of course you would squeal as loudly over the abortions with no such history. Like Obama, who even refused to vote for protection for the rare late-term baby born alive due to a botched abortion. Even then, you’d just chuck the child in a blender.
What a miserable, bloodthirsty miscreant you are!
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:43 am
Actually the current teaching requires Catholics who advance abortion or euthanasia to avoid the Eucharist. Nancy just ignores it, as have many prominent elected Democratic Catholics. It seems their Bishops are either willfully ignorant or unwilling to uphold the Church rules.
Excommunication does NOT cast anyone out of the Church. It disqualifies them from receiving Communion, and is done with a view to repairing the breach as quickly as possible.
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:48 am
And precisely what in the quote from Rep. Spier makes you think it has anything to do with Plato’s parable? She’s talking about women being imprisoned; Plato refers to the shadows a shackled prisoner sees on a cave wall as his only perception of reality, as a philosophical metaphor.
There is no similarity in the two uses of the images of shackles and caves.
Or are you stupid, as well as depraved, dishonest, and degenerate?
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:55 am
Okay, so I see now: you ARE just stupid.

“What my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are attempting to do is misogynist,” Speier said on the House floor. “It is absolutely misogynist.”I’d love to ask her what she thinks of gender-selection abortions, nearly all of which destroy females for the sole reason that they are female. That’s the ultimate misogyny, and it happens with her blessing.
October 14th, 2011 @ 8:37 am
You mean like OWS protesters shitting on cop cars? You mean like OWS protesters burning somebody’s SUV in Oregon? Huh? Huh? Huh? You mean like an OWS protester stepping in front of my car and me “accidentally” hitting the gas instead of the brakes? Huh? Huh? Huh?
October 14th, 2011 @ 8:45 am
Fear not, dear, dear Anamika, in the unlikely, next to impossible event you are ever raped, and become pregnant, just let me know and if necessary I’ll drive you clear to Canada if necessary in order to spare the world such a horror being brought into it. The world can only take so many Caligulas.

Or OWS folks spitting on a Coast Guard woman?

You’re being way too kind, Adj.

Despite the efforts of the last two Popes, The Church is still heavily infected with Liberationists.
Most people don’t realize that the RC is structured like a feudal monarchy, with the Princes having a certain amount of independence. The Holy Father is not an absolute monarch.
October 14th, 2011 @ 8:50 am
The question answers itself.
October 14th, 2011 @ 9:19 am
Probably more like a feudal Polish monarchy, to be precise. At one point Polish boyars voted for the king, as opposed to the usual hereditary arrangement. (Only if Googles world-class spell-check is correct, the Polish king was actually elected by a bunch of boxcars).

….what she FEELS ABOUT gender-selection abortion….
FIFY.
Pro-aborts don’t think.
October 14th, 2011 @ 10:21 am
She is essentially excommunicated by her own actions. Latae sententiae occurred automatically when she committed the offense of supporting abortion. It falls to the bishops to deny her communion.
By my reasoning she would have to publicly renounce her support of abortion since her sin is public. Her bishop needs to grow a spine and deny her communion. Many souls are being led away from God’s teachings by her actions and she’ll be having quite a chat with God on judgement day.

[insert Polish joke here]
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:18 pm
Not interested in being civil to the enemy any more.
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:21 pm
Actually it was worse than that. No law could be enacted without 100% agreement…. and none were.
Apparently the #OccupyWallStreet crowd are fans, though.
October 14th, 2011 @ 3:23 pm
Leftists don’t think.
