Unlike Alex Pappas …
Posted on | October 3, 2011 | 18 Comments
. . . Mark Block never returns my phone calls:
The man who talked Herman Cain into running for president, and plotted a strategy that has the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO surging in the GOP presidential race, knows both highs and lows.
Mark Block was the first 18-year-old ever elected to office in Wisconsin when he was voted onto the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors in 1974.
Yet he was also banned from politics in Wisconsin for three years and forced to pay a $15,000 fine after being accused by the Wisconsin State Elections Board of violating election law in 1997 as campaign manager to state Supreme Court Justice Jon P. Wilcox. . . .
“Politics at times is ugly,” Block, who worked as an official at Americans for Prosperity before becoming Cain’s chief of staff and campaign manager this year, explained during an interview with The Daily Caller. . . .
An interview with the Daily Caller! Wow! But I’m sure Alex’s story is probably already linked elsewhere by now, so why bother commenting?
Because I don’t know nothing about no Herman Cain.

You need to watch this again.
The pity party is over. Back to work!

The whining is unbecoming…
October 3rd, 2011 @ 5:14 pm
Hey Stacy, Scot-Irish do not whine. They yell and start throwing punches, but they do not whine.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 5:23 pm
An admission of failure is not “whining.”
October 3rd, 2011 @ 5:30 pm
And, of course, trying is the first step to failure.
Seriously, though, I get what you’re saying. Nevertheless, I click on most/all of the links for TOM, but only some of Byron York’s or Michael Barone’s, and never, to my knowledge, of Alex Pappas’.
But, that’s just me, who’s more of a blogosphere nobody than anybody you’ve mentioned in any of your sob story posts. 🙂
October 3rd, 2011 @ 5:33 pm
You are not a failure. Not at all.
But you know who is failing? Herman Cain’s staff:
It should be pounded into Cain’s head that you don’t give the treasonous bastards in the media ammunition. Keep dancing to their tune, and you might as well put a “Mc” in front of your name.
That comment is from Christopher in MA at Ms. Althouse’s site. But it is damn good advice. And guys like Mark Block need to be riding in the chariot behind Herman Cain and whispering that advice in his ear.
The candidate Cain needs to beat is Obama. Focus on that and the primaries will be yours. That is what we hunger for. A fighter for conservatives. A leader.
Like This.

Stacy, you and the other independents like yourself, are engaged in a long, twilight struggle against a type of thinking.
It’s a thinking that infects practically everyone, Left or Right, who becomes ‘somebody’. They start, slowly at first, to forget their roots and eventually they end-up citing and linking only ‘their own’ other ‘somebodies’. It’s a tribal/guild thing.
It hurts really bad when when you watch someone, like the creator of The Army Of Davids, start to neglect the troops.
How about some good news: in case of the reverse of the above, Mark Steyn has started linking ordinary bloggers a lot [like Pundette and Paco, to name but two]. It would seem The Wise Man Of The White Mountains has ‘Come to Jesus’ and realizes where the true heart and soul of The Restoration lies.

Alex Pappas? If I want a gyro and stuffed grape leaves I might call Alex Pappas. If I want the inside dope on what is happening I got to The Other McCain.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 6:03 pm
What scarymatt said. Byron York and Michael Barone bore me. I can pretty much always tell what they’re going to say. You get my clicks every time. You’re succeeding! Unfortunately, you’re succeeding with me, and I have no money. 😉
October 3rd, 2011 @ 2:31 pm

October 3rd, 2011 @ 7:15 pm
Oh, puh-leeze!
One post whining about the lack of recent linkage might be appropriate, repeated posts is just petulance.
But one thing we know for sure: constantly complaining about the lack of Instan-links always works to get more – NOT.
GR links what he finds interesting and informative at the moment. Except for his tendency to link posts on certain subject areas, it’s hard to predict. Some have said being the first in his inbox on a story helps, others say don’t flood him with links to everything, others admit they have no clue at all.
An old farmer told me it makes no sense to curse the lack of rain, because it doesn’t make it rain any sooner.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 7:44 pm
Be smart Stacy. Complaining to GR is not going to work, let alone doing it publically. So get back on your horse and start blogging and reporting.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 7:48 pm
Hey!
October 3rd, 2011 @ 7:55 pm
What makes you think I’ve complained to GR? Merely to state the fact of my own failure is not a complaint.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 8:43 pm
You’re better than that asshole. At least you let juvenile morons like me comment on your blog, he thinks he’s too damn good. The hell with him anyway.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 11:47 pm
Merely to state your own sense of failure (because you are in fact not a failure) to a friend over a drink is not a complaint.
Posting your musings on your blog on how you feel like a failure for being forgotten is a complaint. It’s about the same of putting up posters on how you feel dissed for not getting invited to the prom.
October 3rd, 2011 @ 11:49 pm
Well, when you see Anamika show up, I think GR may have a point.
October 4th, 2011 @ 2:56 am
Comes with the territory. Any decent blogger allows comments. Granted, I can see where GR wouldn’t want to mess with it, as he’s really not a blogger he’s an aggregator. You rarely get more than one or two sentences out of him along with a link to some post. I don’t have the patience to go through most of the crap he posts.
