Bad Liberal Policy in California

Posted on | August 31, 2011 | 12 Comments

Leave it to those crazy left-wingers in California to do something so completely stupid, it’s hard to believe anyone would support it.

According to one conservative blogger, staff for “the bill’s sponsor, California Democratic Assemblywoman Toni Atkins” — what a radical kook! — have confirmed “that the legislation had been voted out of the state Senate Appropriations Committee by 6-3.”

You’re probably asking yourself, “What lunatic policy are those demented moonbats in Sacramento planning to impose on the long-suffering taxpayers of California this time?”

It’s gotta be outrageous, right?

Mandatory Gardasil vaccinations.

Just sayin’ . . .

How will parents react when they find out they will be expected to
provide workers’ compensation benefits, rest and meal breaks and paid
vacation time for…babysitters? Dinner and a movie night may soon become
    much more complicated.

Assembly Bill 889 (authored by Assemblyman
Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, will require these protections for all
“domestic employees,” including nannies, housekeepers and caregivers.

Every day is a bright, new day for Progressives. No history to trouble them. They go to sleep, the mind is erased. On waking, the echo chamber re-educates them and off they go to blearily drearily fight the same fight over again until sleep can erase their minds again.

    Groundhog Day. On steroids.

What’s with the politicization of vaccinations, for Pete’s sake?  They say bad/we say good, just automatically?

Falling into the sea is rapidly becoming a best-case scenario for California anyway.

Immunization policy is one thing that should be handled at the national level.  States don’t have the expertise or resources to determine which vaccinations need to be mandatory, or at what age.

It is also far more difficult to deal with the nuts who oppose all mandatory vaccinations on a state-by-state basis.

Is there a parental opt-out, like there was in Texas?

Yeah. Outrageous. Having representatives pass such a nanny state, big government law is almost as outrageous as the Governor doing so unilaterally.

Hey, there’s something to be said for moving the hell out of that sorry state.

I recommend firebombing San Franciso, Oakland, Sacramento, and much of the LA area as a way of improving the economy.

Rebuilding the cities, and removing a lot of politicians should do wonders.

I don’t know what is more stupid, the actions of the left to force people to be vaccinated, or the neurotic nonsense that inspires so much of the hostility towards this vaccine itself.

MMR vaccinations make sense because they protect against communicable diseases that are easily transmissible and have been the sources of epidemics in the past.

A vaccination against cervical cancer, while a nice idea, is not something that the state has a compelling interest in requiring of the public because HPV isn’t an epidemic and never has been.

Then on the flip side we have those people whose own neuroses when it comes to sex, or anything even vaguely related to sex, causes them to wax psychotic over the idea of young girls receiving this vaccine.  I agree that it should not be forced on these girls by the state, but most of the arguments I hear against it seem to be based on the irrational idea that the vaccine should not exist in the first place.

Nah! Nuke ’em first to be sure it can’t regenerate.

    “Bad Liberal Policy,” is redundant.

leereyno, it’s not that the stuff exists, it’s what the state is saying about the behavior teens that leads to the requirement. If you want you kid to have it, that’s one thing. To automatically make the assumption the kid is going to be promiscuous is another. Additionally, there is far from anything like a guarantee the shots will accomplish much of anything anyway.
