Piers Morgan Really Likes Masturbation (And Really Hates Christine O’Donnell)

Making the media rounds to promote her new book Troublemaker, 2012 Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell appeared on CNN with Piers Morgan, who decided that he needed to grill O’Donnell about masturbation and whether she had “committed lust”:
What an annoying twerp. This is not only offensive, it’s boring.
There are far more interesting questions I’d like to ask Christine O’Donnell, and it has been suggested that I should interview her, but I’m probably still too angry at her — yes, I said “angry.”
It goes back to the morning of Sept. 15, the day after her triumph over RINO Mike Castle in the GOP primary. There were several of us — including O’Donnell and her campaign manager, Matt Moran — standing around the lobby of the Fairfield Inn in Dover, Delaware. And I distinctly remember telling Matt that what they needed to do, having recently reaped a bonanza of online contributions, was to come out with an attack ad hitting their Democratic opponent Chris Coons as hard as they could.
Hit him hard and hit him now, I told Matt. Make the campaign about him and his record — Coons raised taxes three time in four years — or else the Democrats would make the campaign about Christine, and we’d already seen enough of those old MTV/Maher videos to know how that would turn out.
They didn’t listen. For reasons that have never been adequately explained to me, instead the O’Donnell campaign brought in Fred Davis who took three weeks to produce the now-notorious “I’m You” ad. I defended that ad at the time, but I was still furious that the O’Donnell team had missed the opportunity to turn Coons’s tax-raising record into an ad, as I wrote on October 5:
Having some relevant experience with video production, I bet it wouldn’t take 48 hours for anyone with access to Final Cut Pro to turn those basic facts [of Coons’s record] into a hard-hitting 30-second ad. And had I been in charge of the O’Donnell campaign, saturating the Delaware TV market with that attack ad would have been Priority One. Yet here we are three weeks after the primary, and it hasn’t been done yet. So where is the attack ad making that argument?
They could have (and should have) hit Coons with a barrage of attack ads within a week of their Sept. 14 primary victory but didn’t, and as a result O’Donnell became the poster girl for an endless round of “told you so” smears on the Tea Party by the GOP Establishment.
And it also cost me a bet with John Fund.
Like I said, I’m still angry about it, and when the publicist for O’Donnell’s book caught me at Ames last week and pitched me, I went off on a three-minute rant about how O’Donnell’s campaign botched that opportunity.
“Fred F–ing Davis!” I yelled. “What the hell were they thinking?”
Maybe the explanation is in her book, but the publicist still hasn’t sent me the book, so I don’t know. However, if Christine O’Donnell wants to name names of whatever consultants or advisers told her to hire Fred Davis, I’d certainly be interested to find out, because those incompetent assclowns deserve to be exposed and humiliated for their embarrassing blunder. But I suppose she’d rather talk to George Stephanopoulos.

I’d like to “interview” Christine myself. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

For once, TPT, there was no double-entendre intended.

Well said. She had millions in donations, and didn’t put out any ads as all.
It was her third major campaign, her second in a general election. She has no excuse.

I remember the “Taxman” ad against Coons, which was pretty good. But yes, we should have seen more of that – with more information. They shouldn’t have bothered to do personal ads about Christine.

Can’t blame her for walking out, though. I’m just sorry she didn’t slap him silly(er) first.

They key, really, was to hit Coons early and just pound way relentlessly: “He raised taxes three times in four years” — a memorable eight-word sentence that should have been burned into the cerebral cortex of every TV viewer and radio listener in Delaware before the end of September. Make the opponent’s record the theme of the campaign, so that people are motivated to vote against him (and against taxes).

I AM a witch, and I may turn you into a frog if you keep dissing me!

I know you didn’t mean that. But she needs to seriously give it up. She’s what now, in her late forties? She isn’t getting any younger. That might be what’s influencing her to make mistakes. Like listening to too many of the wrong kind of men and not even realizing the influence.
I watched her debate with Chris Coontz and I thought she thrashed him and trashed him. The Taxman ad was a first rate ad. Those two things was my only exposure to her campaign. Until I read this I had no idea that she had made so many mistakes (other than the “I am not a witch ad” which everybody knows about) and otherwise ran such a lackluster campaign.
It didn’t help her, of course, that so many establishment Republicans like Karl Rove openly dissed her. But maybe she made it just a little bit too easy for them too.

IMHO the “I’m You” ad might have been a good idea three weeks earlier. I saw part of an interview of her somewhere, she stated that she was against that ad at the time but allowed her handlers to over ride her gut instincts. It should have been obvious to her from the establishment’s attitudes during the primary that she shouldn’t have been listening to the “Old Guard” on policy or on campaigning.

Victims of her scam are still in denial.
She wants you to BUY the damn book, Stacy. She doesn’t make any money giving them away, you know.
And she has always been about the money, all about the money, and about nothing but the money.
To the dull of wit who still insist Coons is no worse than Castle would have been, I remind: Castle had a lifetime ACU rating of 55%, but near-perfect voting on issues the leadership marked as party votes. Coons is against us and for Obama 100% of the time.
If you can’t do the math, invest five bucks in a calculator, suckers.

If we are going to draw a line and say no further we must expect some losses. I find myself explaining to liberals that the agenda of the Tea Party Freedom Fighters was to elect conservatives not merely to elect Republicans. No matter the quality of her as a candidate or potential as a prospective Senator the fact of the matter is no one else stepped up to take the conservative mantel. Rejecting the notion that we may have to settle for a squish because a true conservative can’t be elected may lead to many more defeats. It may take longer to turn the Government or we may fail altogether. If we are forced to settle for Rhinos and Squishes, then we are doomed in either case.

Well Adjoran its like this. If Castle had won the primary, the right thing to have done would have been to support him, and vote for him in the general. Just like the right thing to do since O’Donnell won the primary would have been to support her, and vote for her. That’s the only math that matters, at least to me. But the national party is comprised of a bunch of PRICKS and the state Delaware GOP is orders of magnitude worse. Now, if Castle was to run for anything, I for one am going to oppose him outright, whether in the primaries or in the general. It’s only the right thing to do. Sometimes you have to cut ties before you can move ahead.
August 19th, 2011 @ 8:40 pm
Exactly. When it comes right down to it, and when it matters the most, its always a Castle, or a Magic Bullet Specter, or Kay Hutchinson or the Bitches from Maine who turn on you and side with the Democrats.
August 19th, 2011 @ 11:40 pm
It wasn’t only democrats that went after O’Donnell, a lot of Republicans (mad about their RINO losing) and other assorted supposed conservative bloggers that went after her.
Yeah she said some stuff that was easy to take out of context and make fun of and since liberals don’t like to talk facts and ideas, that’s what they do and any one running for office as a conservative or Republican should expect that. Howsomeever that doesn’t excuse some of the snide, snarky and downright sexist things were said about her by people that contend they are conservative or have conservative leanings.
I quit reading a couple blogs because the owners just wouldn’t let up and it doesn’t take much to keep people away or to vote for someone else. 1% will do it.

Pagan Temple is on the money. If we need to do a post-mortem on the republican’s failure to win the seat in the O’Donnell campaign of 2010, high on the list of things to mention would be that ass-clown Castle. Mike Castle was about Mike Castle, and nothing would deter him from clinging to himself. Smirk about that, Maher. Meanwhile the public had to suffer through replay after replay of his idiotic TV show, where truth be told the questions were equally as stupid as anyone’s answers. Do we really need to hear Maher hold forth on the insights he has garnered about engaging in mature and fulfilling relationships? We could get much the same pap from a junior high PE class. If he wants to judge another person’s choices, maybe he should spend less time trolling for twenty year-olds at the Playboy mansion. They figure him out soon enough anyway. The tosser.

I personally don’t see how Christine O’Donnell is a tea party conservative. It’s not what she said on the Bill Maher show, but the fact that she was chosen to be on in order to make conservatism look stupid, and clearly played that part for all it was worth.
Stacy makes a good point about the campaign strategy and he was there. And I don’t necessarily believe Christine when she now claims she ignored her gut and listened to her consultants. But it seems to me that if you tell the RINOs to f-off enough times, and they do, you shouldn’t be at all suprised.

And when Sarah Palin calls on support for “experienced, vetted, pro-free market fiscal conservatives” in her 8/8/2011 facebook note, she is tacitly admitting that she failed to do that when she decided to support Christine O’Donnell.
If SP can learn from this mistake, is it really necessary to maintain the CO charade? Why do you think Piers Morgan interviewed her? Same reason Bill Maher hired her way back when.

Not this $#!+ again.
I agree with Levin on this one. Not every guy in the platoon is gonna be the next Captain America. Sometimes you get Beetle Bailey. Doesn’t mean you decide to trash your side or even damage the Beetle Baileys, just because you sit in your chair, banging on a keyboard that you don’t like screwups.
She’s still have been better in Congress than the Dem who won because of Karl Rove and company, and the myriad “Conservatives” out there who decided to go public with the accusations of incompetence and the “Conservative” bloggers laughing at her before the election. Couldn’t wait a few weeks, could they?
Nice own-goal.
August 20th, 2011 @ 6:02 pm
She would have been better than Castle too.
