Lubricating the Debt-Ceiling Deal

The negotiations continue in Washington. It’s OK with Harry Reid and one liberal sees it as an “unprecedented political victory” for the GOP.
Ri-iiiiiight.
That Mr. G Guy offers a suggestion for how conservatives can make their end of the bargain slightly less painful. However, he misses a lucrative opportunity to monetize this occasion.
Perhaps you have already supplied your personal lubrication needs. Yet we don’t want to neglect this chance to remind our readers that they sell everything at Amazon and, when you shop via our Amazon Associates links here, I collect a 4% sales commission on whatever you buy.
Recent items purchased by our readers include a $379 Kindle with wireless 3G and a 9.7-inch screen (that’s a $15.16 commission for me), a $549 Weber propane grill ($21.96 commission), and a $129.99 Kalos electric guitar starter kit ($5.20 commission).
We still haven’t sold any $120,000 7-carat diamond rings — or $50,000 pearl necklaces or even any $4,500 mink coats — but we continue to be hopeful that some of those “millionaires and billionaires” Obama keeps talking about will shop our Amazon Associates links to express their gratitude for our fight against higher taxes.
Of course, the simplest and most direct way for right-wing billionares to support the blog is by hitting the tip jar, but not all Tea Party extremists are flying around in corporate jets, so we’re happy to offer you a chance to get great bargains at Amazon and thereby chip in a 4% commission to help pay the bills around here.

Herman Cain wins Western Conservative Summit Straw Poll; Rick Perry Second: Presidential candidate Herman Cain won the straw poll at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver this weekend with 48 percent of the votes, followed by Texas Governor Rick Perry…Cain gave a rousing speech at the summit Sunday morning, energizing the crowd with his message about American independent energy, immigration, and fighting the establishment. Many people turned in their straw poll ballot before Cain’s speech and tried to switch their votes after hearing him speak, though the conference did not allow it.
Can I get an amen? http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/07/herman-cain-wins-western-conservative-summit-straw-poll-rick-perry-second.html

It appears that the blog owner can choose the particular product ads that Amazon places? I did not know that.
My, that opens worlds of possibilities. (and puts a shadow on some of the Amazon ads seen on other less enlightened sites. 🙁 )
