Worship Teaching Friends About Heavenly ObamaCare

Interesting, given our separation of church and State that the State is comfortable asking churches to spread the word, as reported in Politico, via Hot Air.
“Get out there and spread the word,” Obama told leaders from across the religious spectrum on the conference call, organized by the Health and Human Services Center for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships…
Obama instructed faith leaders to treat the new law as settled fact and use their perches of power to convey that message to congregants and friends.
An oddly asymmetric tack. Were the pulpits to come out against the un-Constitutional political colonoscopy, past behavior indicates that, say, those zany Southern Baptists might get something other than the Bible thrown at them, yeah, verily, even as much as the tax code iteslf.
Some think that Woodward’s new book will spell his Waterloo. Others that the PantherGate coverup could be a Little Big Horn moment. I think that the dread of the November election, itself, will devastate the President like the Japanese did the Russians at Tsushima. Yes, it’s an obscure reference, but, if you study the event, you’ll see how like that Russian fleet these Democrats are. So hapless as to border on pitiful, without meriting pity.
October surprise?
Thoughts tantalize.
Truth scrapes away falsehood,
Like beard below eyes.

” The discussion about whether Obama should even be allowed to finish his first term should begin.”
Hahahaha! Yeah, dream on.
This to me is one of the more curious tendencies on the Right; the mistake of confusing wishful thinking with fact.
Yes Smitty, the Nov. elections will “devastate” him. No, you wish they will destroy him. You see, Righties tend to project their personal reactions in the face of adversity( you know, whine, stomp their feet, yell, lie, bitch and moan, etc.etc.) to Libs. Hence their insistence that someone like O’donnel or Palin drives us nuts.
Newsflash–they make us laugh. As in the kind of laughter you reserve for idiots and the morons who love them.
Sorry Smitty, better luck next time.

The key to keeping the system functioning is to keep the people convinced we live in a “democracy” under “the Constitution” and the “rule of law” enforced by “impartial judges”. The hubris of the Obama administration and recent events have tested that, but the truth- that we live under an authoritarian oligarchy that rules quite arbitrarily- is too much for the average American to handle.
They’ll lose the House but all it will mean is they take a breather- left wing power never ever gets rolled back, it just spends some time consolidating.

Thrasymachus’ last sentence is a truth proven out over time. ‘Two steps forward, one step back’, is a strategy of the Left that has been working for 100 years now. Having over reached, they are willing to sacrifice some electoral losses, confident, from past experience that they will be able to cow the Republicans to keep much, if not all of their over reach in place.
As to Smitty’s post, the Left’s agenda has been pushed in Leftist temples for years, perhaps, throughout the ages. For if one doesn’t worship God Almighty, then the Leftist Religionists just have to ‘help’ god-not-so-almighty out, with ‘his/her/it’s’ will to be done. For god-not-so-almighty always does whatever the Left thinks best. This happens when the Right also forgets God Almighty (Thy will be done), and thinks He needs help via government, also. This is not to say that God’s
revealed will (His Word) should not be a part of our Law, it should, but God Almighty will have His Will Be Done, no matter who is in power electorally

Oh you wacky Naval guys and your semi-obscure references.
It’s a very good analogy – bravo.
However, one fact out of the Russian situation worries me: the Tsar went on to hold office for the next twelve years.

Bob, that’s because he pivoted and ran on hope and change

Smitty, great post. What gets me is that if a church comes out and supports a conservative candidate from the pulpit, suddenly their tax-exempt status is at risk. But let the liberals do the same and it’s justice.
Loved that photo. 🙂
As I’ve said, religion and progressivism are mortal enemies. Progressives may try to “appear” as though they’re compassionate and all copacetic with religion, but nothing is further from the truth. Religion, true Christianity, is competing by stating that one is free within the Kingdom of God. One does not need the government to provide for them. And only One is to be worshiped and that isn’t the Progressive platform.
Progressives fiercely hate freedom and will do everything within their power to subjugate and control.

@Obi’s Sister,
Haven’t the foggiest.
Something that came in on Digg.
I had just gone by the HotAir entry in the Google Reader, and lo, a post was born.

young4eyes – you are a silly, silly, person. Verrry silllly.
Obi’s Sister – yes, it’s a real church catering to students at the Univ. of New Mexico and they spelled out WTF deliberately to be provocative. I spent a while at their website, but was unable to determine WTF the they were about other than “Jesus needs a new PR” campaign, and they are going to give it to him. Also they seem big on “community”, whatever that is?
