D Is For Democrat

GradeGov warns of the lame duck session:
Depending on the results of the election, it would seem that McConnell may have the mandate to just announce a standing filibuster. The only point in trying to pass odious legislation would be that, signed into law, the legislation may require veto-override capability to remove.
GradeGov.com gives my Congresstool a ‘D’. Why so high, one wonders? All the more encouragement to work to the ethical limit to elect a representative Representative, instead of Moran. Americans who want to alter course away from shoal water must support their local candidate, even if not agreeing 100% with their issues. November is an election of Biden-esque proportions.

It’s between those two letter grades that Congress and the White House are alternating in between for their report card.

@AW,
I’m going to the campaign kickoff next Thursday, I’ll see about some gouge. I expect ample opportunity to work like a dog for this campaign. However, the rest of the country deserves that sort of effort do dispose of Moran.

It is evidence of the same attitude which led them to respond to the Scott Brown shocker in MA by doubling down to cram through HCR anyway. Pelosi and Reid figure their members are in enough electoral trouble without having more ammunition handed their opponents via votes on cap-‘n’-tax, Card Check, the budget, and other measures which will not be popular with voters.
So why not just have them pass the stuff right after the election? The defeated candidates won’t care, and those reelected all will have at least two years to let the public forget what they did before facing them again. When you are stuck on stupid, every shiny object is a shooting star . . .
~~~~~~~~
Moran has only kept his seat this long because the federal government has permeated the environs of DC. The Nomenklatura already rule Maryland, in effect; NoVA has been occupied territory for decades now, too.
Give Murray my message, quoting Apollo Creed’s pre-fight advice to Rocky in the ring in the first half of Rocky III: “Do us all a favor and drop this chump!”
I have a modest proposal. The GOP might be able to gain a majority in both houses this year, but we all recognize that there is no possibility of gaining enough votes to override the Presidential veto when the Republicans attempt to pass repeal bills for health care and all the stuff that is sure to be rammed through during the lame-duck session.
So: as soon as the next Congress is sworn in, introduce a Constitutional amendment to repeal all Federal bills passed since January 1, 2009. The “stimulus”, card check, financial-industry takeover… all wiped off the books in one fell swoop. A Constitutional amendment need only have a majority in both Houses, and Obama has no say-so since Constitutional amendments don’t go to the President. Admittedly, getting 37 states to ratify will be close, but there are at least 30 that are sure bets.
