Forming (Mustering) Janissaries as Response to Americans

The police were doing their job (or were they?), but it was just incredibly stupid, paranoid, silly, and abyssmal optics to form up the riot squad against little old ladies. I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough goofball mistakes. Not only does no one but the devout kool-aid swiller believe you, Mr. President, the bulk of the people are more inclined to give credence to the opposite of what you say. Recommend you regroup and quit urinating down the public back while proclaiming precipitation.

Conservatives are accustomed to thinking of the police- local city police and sheriffs at least- as friendly and helpful custodians of order. This may have been the case 20 years ago but no more. Police departments are extensions of governments completely controlled by liberals, either directly- the mayor and council are liberals- or indirectly, by legislation and court decisions and orders that control their conduct. And potential recruits are very carefully screened so they will not violate political correctness in any way.
Police officers are not your friend and cannot be counted on to protect the public, because that is not their job. Their job is to protect the political order they work under, and if that means attacking little old ladies they will do it.

The vast majority of my own interactions with police have been positive, but then again my interactions have been with patrol cops and not with the politicians-with-a-badge that do things like call out SWAT teams to deal with little old ladies.
A cop who works for a living might be bad or he might not — but if he’s spoiling for a confrontation the stupidest thing anyone can do is give it to him.
