SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Not that there was ever any doubt, but I’m now a Certified Righteous Gentile after attending a Passover seder Monday hosted by Barbara Espinosa’s friends Larry and Jobi Rosen.

The haggadah wasn’t strictly traditional — part of the ritual telling of Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian slavery was performed to the tune of “Gilligan’s Island” — but the unleavened bread, the bitter herbs, the wine, Mah Nishtanah, etc., were all observed. So the possibility of my becoming the first Gentile prime minister of Israel is now slightly less hypothetical . . .

Jobi Rosen and the four-time Malkin Award nominee.

UPDATE: Jennifer Rubin on Obama’s Passover message: “[F]rankly, it sounds like Eric Holder and his civil rights lawyers drafted it.”

Mazel Tov. I am not Jewish but I love Passover Seders. I had a friend tell me his family Seder yeserday used that Gilligan’s Island Seder Song. Now I have to go find it!

I spent time in Israel during several Passovers. No beer sold in the resort bars of Eilat (no whiskey or any grain based beverage), but the bars would sell you a bottle of wine that you could chug.

    RS,

I’ve always said you are an honorary Jew, so it’s good to see you enjoying one of my favorite Jewish holidays.

Did you read the four questions?

And when I was Bar Mitzvahed at the Wall in Jerusalem, I read the first 3 chapters of Exodus.

When will you set up your Tip-Jar for a trip to interview PM Netanyahu? Embarass AS and President O (brother).

Very funny Passover parody songs. Oh if only Dan Collins was Jewish, he would be in heaven with this.

Stacy, it was our pleasure to have you join us for the seder yesterday evening and you are always welcome to join us whenever your are in town. Now I know why you wanted to take my picture with you. Welcome to the “tribe” – the other tribe. I think we have the same number of nations as the native Americans with less offshoots.

The article asks, “Is Passover really about discrimination?” I suppose it would be to people who follow James Cone.
