2012 and Other Distractions

It’s bad enough to have Bob Belvedere and friends distracting me with Old School pinup trivia — I’d never even heard of Melba Ogle before — but what’s with Ross Douthat trying to spark a premature rush to the Mitch Daniels 2012 bandwagon?

At 5’7”, the Indiana governor wouldn’t be the tallest man to occupy the White House, and he’d be the baldest president since Dwight D. Eisenhower. If Romney looks like central casting’s idea of a chief executive, Daniels resembles the character actor who plays the director of the Office of Management and Budget — a title that he held, as it happens, during George W. Bush’s first term.

Ross needs to get his priorities in order:

  1. Defeat ObamaCare.
  2. Defeat House Democrats in November.
  3. Google “Karla Conway.”

Whatever you do, Ross, wait until Nov. 3 before you do that Google search.

    1 and 2 are out of our hands now, Stacy. I was all about focusing on 2010 IN 2009, but not when elections are a mere 8 months away.

    Also, I might as well point out that you’re the one that said that people who don’t think Palin’s the one better have a decent alternative. Mitch is one of those alternatives. All of a sudden, you want to shut down the conversation?

    Did a little research of my own. Turns out Melba made her living as a meatcutter and fashion model. An unusual combination to be sure, but hey, it was the sixties!
