Aretha Franklin Understands

Posted on | January 27, 2010 | 30 Comments

Matthew Archbold makes his wife feel like a natural woman, which shocks a woman who’s all into “natural” living:

“What?!” gasped the woman. “Really? You really have five kids?” . . .
It is rather an oddity that with all this focus on natural foods that many women still don’t consider birth control in the same manner.

Heh. Mrs. Other McCain and I have six kids. Sing it, Aretha.

UPDATE: New commenter Sherry Antonetti has nine kids, a blog and a sense of humor. Also, a very grateful husband, I’m sure.

UPDATE II: Holy smokes! Talk about a small world. Remember Amanda Read? She’s a student at my politically incorrect alma mater. And Amanda’s mom is a blogger who also has nine kids!

Breeders, taking over the blogosphere.

We’re Andrew Sullivan’s worst nightmare.

6 kids?? Admirable, I say. I’m in my late 20’s and all the ladies with whom I socialize are in the “one…MAYBE two” camp.

Obviously, Chuck, you’re socializing with the wrong kind of ladies. What you want is the kind of girl with that “I crave your seed” look in her eyes.

They’re hard to find, but worth the effort. Trust me. 😉

Awesome! My mom is a mother of 9 children and blogs sporadically at http://www.fairhillsfarm.com. We’re impressed by those moms that are able to blog frequently!

Let’s not forget to praise those men who are willing to support large families, view yet another pregnancy/baby/toddler as a blessing, and value his wife’s vocation as wife/mother. I suspect it’s now the norm for a young man to place a prospective mate’s earning potential ahead of her desire to make a home or bear his children. Hope that’s not the case.

6 for me. Remember Longshanks in Braveheart…

“If we can’t get them out, we’ll breed them out.”

Of course, he meant the Scottish. But if it works against the progressives, I’m in.

I grew up among all large families. Four kids was considered small, eight to nine the norm. My mom called our lovely street, home to the Catholic Church and school, “incubator alley”.

Now mom has two adopted foster kids living next door with two moms. Times have changed.Nice to know it has not for some.
