NFL Sunday: Vikings Will Stomp Saints

Having accurately predicted the outcome of the Colts-Jets game, let’s see if I can go 2-0 this Sunday.

UPDATE: As the WhoDats in the comment field note, the final stomping of the Saints has been postponed until the Super Bowl.

So I went 1-1 on championship Sunday. I’m awaiting a “Downfall” video about the Vikings post-game locker room: “Fumbles! I’ve seen third-grade girls carry a football better than Peterson! We could have conquered the world but fumble! fumble! fumble!“

    Racist, racist, racist. Vikings are racist.

    But I am conflicted because the Saints are too religious in nature.

    I’m sorry, Stacy – I have to root for the Saints. After all, I went to college (Newcomb at Tulane) there and met my Beloved husband there the first day (NROTC, EE, Tulane).

    Besides, they’ve been the underdogs for so many years that it’s nice to see them doing well – division champs! – for once.

    …Not that I’m a true sports fan…. 😉

    I’m hoping that the Super Bowl will be one of those classic quarterback duels for the ages, which goes into overtime only to be decided by a fluke kickoff return for a touchdown 12 seconds into OT. Then when fifty million casual fans that only watch the Super Bowl, two hundred thousand of which hadn’t gotten back from the bathroom yet and thus missed all of OT, all say “wait, what? how is it fair that a game like that got decided like that?” the NFL will finally have to bow to reason and get rid of the bogus notion of Sudden Death Overtime.
