Are Democrats Planning to Steal the Massacusetts Election for Coakley?

Posted on | January 16, 2010 | 43 Comments

Only if they have to, but at last night’s Coakley rally, Da Tech Guy overheard some union official assure a Democrat, “Don’t worry, the cavalry’s coming.”  Was that perhaps a reference to the SEIU “Purple Army” that Michelle Malkin is warning about?

Scott Brown has consistently said he hopes for a fair election. “I have faith in the system,” Brown said yesterday at his rally in the North End.

The possibility of Democratic vote-rigging is like the rumors of a Lindsay Lohan sex tape — you can’t describe it until you see it. But as we were driving to a late dinner last night at the Border Grille & Bar in Leominster, I pointed out that there is no authority to hold Democrats accountable for their cheating.

“Who’s going to prosecute them? The state attorney general? And if you appeal to the feds — yeah, I’m sure Eric Holder will get to the bottom of it.”

And then there’s the poll-mongering. Jim Geraghty has a post about the leaked internal polls. You can obsess about poll numbers all you want, but at this stage of the game, polls are also like the Lindsay Lohan sex tape — interesting to look at, but not really very satisfying.

Polls are not a prediction, but a snapshot of voter sentiment at a particular moment. Talking about polls three days before a big election is like Texas fans talking trash before the BCS championship game. In football, the pre-game predictions don’t mean anything once they kick off and start playing. And in elections, what counts in the end is whether those “likely voters” actually vote.

Exit question: Is this “the end of change as we know it”?

This is a tough fight and it is hardly over. Scott Brown is definitely competative, may win this thing, but this is Massachusettes as Martha Coakley is fond of misspelling, thinks asking for votes in front of Fenway Park is for losers, and she thinks Curt Schilling is a Yankee fan.

Intrade is steadily moving in Brown’s favor, but he is still behind Coakley in that prediction market.

Meanwhile, your buddy Patterico has never seemed to challenge Martha Coakley on her history of prosecutorial misconduct? Why doesn’t Patterico use his awesome powers to challenge Martha Coakley on that? It appears Martha Coakley will throw anyone under the bus to further her own career. Does Patterico disagree Coakley did anything wrong as a prosecutor? Or is it just a case of professional courtesy on Patterico’s part?

Is this “the end of change as we know it”?

Lets see… “Change as we know it”:

Two massive blowout omnibus spending bills with a combined 14,000 earmarks. A trillion dollar “stimulus” bill that didn’t stimulate anything, was written by the House of Representatives and was predominantly a vehicle to funnel money to Democratic districts. A trillion dollar Health Care “reform” bill that was written by big pharma, big insurance, and big union lobbyists and does not go into full effect until 2019 when it still will not cover 28 million Americans.

It may be the end of “Change as we know it”, but it would be the beginning of “Hope” as we prefer it.

Intrade just went fifty fifty at the time of this post, with Brown just slightly ahead! I am loving that. But the Dems will steal it if they can.

Patterico remains silent on Martha Coakley’s prosecutorial misconduct.

I have to say though I doubt Brown will win. I’m sure the Democrats have taken out election insurance. It’s guaranteed to make the Democrat win every time no matter who has the most votes.

    RSM–

You can only steal elections on the margin. Rigging voting machines and so forth is much harder to do now than it used to be. If Brown gets +5, they can’t manufacture enough votes to win. Plus, look for the absentee ballots to heavily favor Brown, which has been one of his strategies all along.

Anyway, I think the thug was just referring to some “unknown” help that he assumed, like an uneducated teleologist, would materialize. I doubt he had any actual information.

Oh, I am bringing up Patterico only because today he is on his circulating jihad of mendacity, now back against Radley Balko.

Patterico is more concerned with Balko linking to some story about a possibly tipsy football fan and a Pennsylvania trooper who likes to park illegally than criticizing Martha Coakley’s record of prosecutororial misconduct. I mean seriously, it is a morning link not a focused article. I get there may be a second side of the story but how about some priorities Patterico? Why doesn’t Patterico focus his awesome reasoning powers on Coakley’s abuse of authority, which is relevant to her being elected or not, rather than trying to distinguish Nifong as an isolated event?

    Why you ask? Professional courtesy.

Curt Schilling responds to Martha Coakley:

I’ve been called a lot of things…but never, I mean never, could anyone make the mistake of calling me a Yankee fan. Well, check that, if you didn’t know what the hell is going on in your own state maybe you could…

Seriously, this might push Matt Damon and Ben Affleck over the top for Scott Brown.

Like Stalin and Soros said, it doesn’t matter who votes, who matters is the one who counts the votes.

Obama’s appearance tells us they will pull all the stops. By now they should be afraid to let him be associated with another failure. They’ve already got this deck stacked.

The Demonacrats can not afford to have an HONEST election. You can expect ACORN,SEIU,the Black Panthers and EVERY other corrupt organization out there making sure that the Black Vote and the Hispanic vote is behind Cokely. (If the weather is NICE they will be out in force.)

In the last election here in Ohio we had one individual that registered 73 times. We had a judge in Cleveland that allowed the homeless to vote because he considered the home of anyone to be the street corner, the alley or any doorway they slept in. And guess who was there to insure that this took place ACORN.

Naturally with a black mayor, a Demcnacrate as Governor NOTHING was done and little is anything was said in the MSM.

The same will happen in Mass. The Demonacrats
(DEMONS IN CHARGE) can not affort to lose this seat.
